should never enter the hull of barge without a resperator or air supply, even with holes cut in the side of it!! there is a lot of toxic gases which could result in a low oxygen enviroment! many people have died working in confined spaces! i literally had a 10 hour saftey course on this subject!

Listening to that low thud when it hits the seabed at 6:10 makes me wonder what kinda sound the Titanic would’ve made when it hit. It went down fast and a lot deeper. I vaguely remember watching a documentary either about the Lusitania or Britannic..pretty sure latter. That once the ship went under those still bobbing on the surface actually HEARD it hit the floor. Eerie stuff. The ocean can be so mesmerizing both in its bustling near shore habitats and its void. I both love and hate the ocean. I swear I suffer from acute thalassophobia
@UWPICVID16 күн бұрын
Yes the impact force is pretty wild. During some of these ship sinking projects you can here the impact at the surface when they hit the seafloor.

cool but what a waste of resouces... imagine just dumping hundered of tons of steel into the sea.... yes you make make an artifical reef for fish or a place to dive... but wasting resources is just stupid.
@UWPICVID17 күн бұрын
The metal is effectively being used to construct and create a resource. In this case, an underwater habitat that benefits the environment and provides a recreational destination. This is like constructing a park in a way. The metal is being used to create something of use. To reuse the metal in this vessel in another way could have potentially be possible, however it would have been a very cumbersome and resource intensive process to make the old metal into raw materials to be utilized for other means.

Usually by the time a vessel gets to consideration for use in an artificial reef creation project all other potential vessel uses have already been vetted as non-viable.

A few years back the retired naval aircraft carrier u.s.s. oriskiny cv-34 was sunk as an artificial reef off the coast of Pensacola, Florida the u.s.s. oriskiny cvn-34 had been sold for scrapping but the scrapping process was never started so the u.s. navy took back possession of the u.s.s. oriskiny cvn-34 and prepared her for being sunk as an artificial reef by removing tons of hazardous materials from the old aircraft carrier then she was towed to the gulf of Mexico off the coast of Pensacola, Florida were she was sunk her hull lies in 583 feet of water 💧 just down in enough water 💧 were divers can dive on the sunken aircraft carrier and new species of fish 🐟 as well as current species of fish 🐟 call the oriskiny cvn-34 thier new home 🏡 to live in under the seawater's off the coast of Pensacola, Florida.

Are you sinking this tug-boat as an artificial reef because there are many old ships 🚢 of all kinds instead of scrapping them make artificial reefs out them because many of the natural reefs have been destroyed by pollution and other factors plus by cutting an old retired ship 🚢 for scrap costs alot of money 💰 when these old ships 🚢 of all kinds both civilian and military 🪖 can be used as artificial reefs which make great diving attractions and homes for many underwater species and lots of people can have their loved-ones cremated remains interred in these new artificial reefs because at one time or another these people's loved-ones may have been a crew member aboard these boats 🚢 when they were brand new and through the number of years of service that these vessels provided such as in the fishing industry the oil industry the naval years the years that they were serving as cargo ships 🚢 of many kinds passenger ships 🚢 aircraft carrier's destroyer's cruisers guided missile cruisers tankers supply ships 🚢 support ships 🚢 hospital 🏥 ships 🚢 and other types of ships 🚢 that have sailed ⛵️ on all of this great planet's inland seas and ocean's as well as lakes and really deep rivers, I think that this is a very great idea to make artificial reefs out of old decommissioned ships 🚢 of all kinds so that new underwater species of fish 🐟 and other underwater 🌊 🦭 creatures will have a very new home to live in underwater every ware just what does anybody think about this if you think that this is a very great idea to make artificial reefs out of old decommissioned ships both civilian and military 🪖 please reply back with your answer and response! 😀😃😄😁😆😅🤣😂🤩😛🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑 🤠🤠🤠🤠🤠🤠🤠🤠 👌👍🖖👏👁👁👀💂♂️💂♀️ 👮👮♀️🫅👸👮♂️👮♀️🎅🤶🧛♂️🧛♀️🧟♂️🧟♀️🧟🧌.
