Beautiful shots and fantastic mini-doc about the scuttling! How do you decide where to place the cameras and how long do you have to leave the wreck before you can go and recover the cameras?
@UWPICVIDАй бұрын
Thanks! Regarding camera placement it comes down to several variables. My first consideration is to mount them in a area that is assumed to be easy to recover while scuba diving. I like to keep all the cameras relatively close in this regard.

Why Is This Guy Underrated?
@JamieRHubertАй бұрын
Where is this? And how do you pick the ideal place to sink it? How do you determine what ships are eligible for sinking (for the purpose of creating reefs/marine life habitats), and what boats are not a candidate for that? Also, those little pyramids you installed on the deck to create even better optimum environment for starting reefs, why only place 4 or 6 of them? Why not attach as many as possible to the ship? So many questions.
@MrKistelАй бұрын
There are lots of variables of consideration for all aspects of a project like this. In most cases metal vessels can be utilized to create marine habitat however they most be prepared properly. That involves removing potentially non environmentally friendly items. Also the height of the vessel comes into play depending on where the vessel is intended to be placed. Placement locations are chosen for different reasons which can include distance from shore, depth, seafloor features, and many more.

Missed oppurtunity. No having cameras or divers outside and underwater, not filming the descent of the vessel. But, yes it's about time we give back to nature

Very cool, was the sound of it impacting the bottom caught on video? Like the views of the underwater decent 👌
@UWPICVIDАй бұрын
Yes you can hear it in this video if you have the volume at a high enough level. It is a lower bass type sound that may not not be so obvious on cell phone or tablet speakers however.
@madisonbusman7688Ай бұрын
I can hear that! It's amazing how much force a sinking ship can have when impacting the bottom. Thank you
@UWPICVIDАй бұрын
@@madisonbusman7688 this one actually went down very gracefully but the impact is still impressive. Some of the vessels tend to go down at an angle where all of the impact force goes to a consolidated point of the ship like the stern. Those impacts make a sound loud enough to hear at the surface sometimes!

The seafloor depth is about 135 feet I believe.

How deep is the shipwreck?
@UWPICVIDАй бұрын
I believe the seafloor is about 135 feet down. The top of the crows nest sits in about 65 feet of water I think.
