Thank you for this video, looks like a very easy job and I love your idea of the safety hinges. Now if I can only get my hands on a replacement lock.

You talked about not touching it and pushing oil from your hands down into the wood grain when sanding it, and then you touch it with your bare hands and then sand it!

FABULOUS steampunk piece!! I absolutely love it - the animals look wonderful - and those pipes and gears are amazing!! Your creativity and skills are incredible to watch! Thanks so much! (PS, I also really love that you don't use distracting music in all the quiet spaces - it really allowed me to focus all my attention on your skills and on the process). Subscribing! :)

your lucky.... i got a cedar chest that was dropped 12 ft to the grd from a attic door !!!! mine is a disaster to say the very least.. its a waterfall 1940s chest that has been through hell. it was stored in a attic for 50 yrs with no temp gauge. then pushed out onto the grd ,got hosed down and pieces thrown in a shed for me to go get and play humpty dumpty with. all the outer veneer is gone there is chunks of wood missing and im missing each end piece of the lid... i have got my work cut out for meee !!!

Think about 91% Isopropyl Alcohol. Even though Wally world is now charging $3.98 a quart, it is cheaper than Denatured. OR buy vodka.

My favorite is the stag. The highlighting done around that image is amazing. I love the work that you do. I wish I had a place to do that sort of thing because I think it would be so much fun.❤

You can also do what’s called “pop the grain” before staining or painting. You take 50/50 water and rubbing alcohol and put the mixture in a spray bottle and spray the wood which pops the grain up and then you sand it down for the final time, so when you go to paint or stain etc. the wood won’t pop and you don’t have to risk sanding off the color of stain/ paint. I just learned this from a professional sander today.

Thank you soo much I have a question, will the material ruin my furniture it is a real nice dark stain oak I think and I want to make moldings on 3 different pieces of the head board but fear it will ruin the finish on it I hope you see this kinda soon Thank you very much I am new at this and working on a plain french armoire and it so much fun.

If it is a wood finish I would say no it will not ruin the piece it should be fine.

Boy, the runners don't seem to have much use, mine is dated 1913 and I have had to replace some of them. And am looking to replace the bottom ones now. I am really interested in watching the rest of this of this one.

Thanks for the tip about the hinges! I just inherited one of these chests from my grandmother and I've let it slam on accident a few times now. Going to order a replacement lock from a third party I've found online and probably get those soft close hinges!

This turned out beautiful! I am getting ready to redo a very similar jewelry chest and this was a great guide. I was wondering how I would treat the inside fabric of the jewelry armoir, now I feel a little more confident about painting it after seeing yours!!!

I'm thinking of buying one of the Fuji machines with the pot gun, just for less fill ups, I don't seem to see a way to purchase the guns separately so you end up with both from home Depot. I'm debating if I should go for the semi pro2, hobby 2, or one of the 3 stage units. I mainly want to spray furniture, and slab tables I build with paint, oil based polyurethane, and spar urethane. Also sometimes spray a bedroom with primer, and maybe paint. After doing a drywall job. What are your thoughts?
