I passed my bike test in 1993 on a Honda CB250N (beautiful blue) that was provided by the riding school and they sold it to me. What a lovely bike, 100% reliable, no oil leaks etc; not the quickest bike in the world but always started first press of the button. Honda make superb engines. Nice video by the way.

@@MotorcycleFettlers I flogged it after about 10 years to a mate at work. He put it back on the road and used it for a few years and sold it on to another Honda enthusiast who completely restored it. Basically cleaned it up because it didn`t need "restoring". The V5 last changed hands in 2001 almost 30 years after it was manufactured and its probably still on the road somewhere now.

Still got the full chainguard, which really saves on chains. I had a '78 blue one in the early '80s and it was bulletproof - kept me on the road as a student and then on the dole in the early to mid '80s. Did nothing to it except oils, filter, consumables, points once in a blue moon (and thrash it) from when I got it to when I sold it with over 70K showing and still running like a slightly rattly clock. Even had the original silencer, which was 'improved' when the rear baffle rotted out, liberating a bit more character.

Just watched this there now. Did you drain all the petrol out first or can you do this with full tank?
@MotorcycleFettlersАй бұрын
You don't need to drain the tank, provided that the tank is clean, the fuel is fresh, and the filter is good.
@MotorcycleFettlersАй бұрын
If you're doing the full carbs-off clean, they you'll be taking the tank off and will want to block off the fuel lines. Id you're only doing the in-situ clean, you should be fine.

I read a lot of mixed reviews on this mod. A lot claimed the 2bhp increase wouldnt be noticeable. Theres a local cutting, where when i head uphill (stock) at 80kmh, at full throttle i bleed speed to 70kmh in 5th gear. I literally fitted this air filter 1.5 hrs ago, and just got back from a test ride through said cutting. At full throttle up the hill, I went from 80kmh to 90kmh. TLDR: This air filter makes a big difference. As far as warranty goes, just fit the standard filter again before taking it for a service.
