When using moss long term and watering, what if we can’t squeeze the water out of our nursery pots without them cracking? I’m worried about the moss being too wet and the plant rotting. Would I take out the plant and squeeze out the excess water? Im unsure as I wouldn’t want to damage/disturb the plant by taking out the plant.

When I lived in a house during covid, I had 250+ house plants. When I moved to my apartment My collection was at 53 plants. I currently have around 75 plants. I have a modest wish list. 100 plants seems to be the sweet spot of number of plants for me. So that is the number of plants that I am trying to shoot for. If I see a plant that interests me, that is not on my wish list, I will think long and hard before purchasing it.

If you choose to use tap water add some aquarium water conditioner to the water.

I shake them off of the egg crate and catch them with my hands. I currently feed my trantulas and tailless whip scorpion with medium crickets, so I am not worried about chricket chirps or bites. Not that I care if I take a bite from anything that I currently own. The tote you have them in is good for holding excess crickets, but they could not be bred in it (crickets are a bit hard for me to breed and are smelly. I actually prefer to feed dubia or red runner roaches, when I can get/afford to get them. Wax worms are like candy for them and my trantulas enjoy them as a treat very occasionally. I never feed anything mealworms.

Hi Lulu. Does cutting the stolon activate the node? Or would leaving a stolon with multiple nodes in a prop box also activate the nodes? I’m trying to save an albo and am hesitant to cut up stolon into 3 nodes.

This nursery is so frustrating because they have some nice plants but they never water anything so everything is stressed and there’s a big problem with spider mites so I end up going to Mississauga greenhouse all the time

Do you know anything about growing monstera deliciosa in moss only? I'm currently doing that, but I'm so scared. I have all of my orchids in moss and that is going extremely well. I can let my moss in cattleya and phalaenopsis go crunchy for a day or two before watering and they thrive

Hi Lulu, thank you for this video! I transferred all of my orchids into moss this year. I'm getting good at it. My question is this, I keep my orchids that can be in full sun under a covered deck because I'm afraid of what will happen. I'm scared if, for example, I went out for the day and there was a downpour, that something disastrous would happen. But I previously had them in those full sun conditions and they did great. What do you do about plants in mostly or all moss that have no protection from rain?

Thanks for sharing this video with us. This helped me a lot. One quick question: do you also use perlite with sphagnum moss? Some people do that and I am trying to understand why they do that. Tia!

Thank you so much for sharing Lulu, love your video btw!! I've been switching some of my plants from soil to water because I thought it would be easier and less messy, but I've been dying to grow my plants in sphagnum moss because I love the look of it because I've been doing some props in moss in my indoor greenhouses for awhile!! I will keep your advice in mind, thank you again!! And with your GORGEOUS Anthurium Regal, dies it have perlite under the moss at the bottom of the pot? And your air layering technique looks so interesting!!🥰🙏🏼🙏🏼

3:41 I think the difference you're noticing in the TC tetrasperma vs. the cutting is probably because TC plants don't develop that waxy coating on their leaves in TC until they are fully acclimated to soil (due to the TC vessels being at 100% humidity). It helps to spray them with wilt stop for this reason!

I have many new propagated plants that I grew in water and want to put them in soil but I hear that it needs a transition. Is there a way to mix soil and moss together or do I need to start with the moss and then go to mossand soil please help me.

Moss, with adding little bit of perlite, would help and I added to mine organic soil like happy frog,my plant syngonium seems happy with my mixed,I've been getting good root mix even a new leaf to me is excited to see. If roots go to the bottom, just add your soul mix at the bottom then place roots on top next then add more to cover roots
