The MEAC needs Morehouse right now. This would be a win-win for them. However, Morehouse will need help with this. Throw in CAU, Albany State, Tennessee State, and Kentucky State, and this'll be a winner! 🥳 🎉 🪅 🎊

It was a conversation that we didn't necessarily plan to have. It just happened organically during the course of the show and we didn't have video already cued up to give our conversation context. But we encourged folks to seek out Jackson's comments.

50 years ago might be more progressive than tomorrow because the 2 remaining survivors of the Tulsa Massacre were denied recovery. The inaccessibility and costs of pertinent resources from individual to institutional entities (such as HBCUs) are becoming prevalent. And the intentional efforts of globalization that adversely diminishes the original stakeholders, which is epitomized by the sport of baseball.

11:35 @HBCUSports The MEAC hasn’t even tried to get an EXEMPTION from The NCAA, to attempt to do BOTH Playoff and Celebration Bowl. They aren’t even trying to do both. This is why it’s not an option.

They don't need a exemption. If their 2nd place team has the record, they can be chosen to go to the FCS playoffs.

Your concept is very short-sided. You seem not to grasp the travel habits and patterns of HBCU fans. Have you ever seen HBCU fans attend games played outside after December 1st? Teensee State and Hampton won't entertain playing S.C. State or NCCU during the regular season. So why would the MEAC Champion play an opponent that has not had a higher FCS rating than any of the MEAC CHAMPIONS over the past ten years? No promoter in the world would entertain this.

The SWAC should have secured a definite date feasible to the SWAC in the contract they signed with ESPN. ESPN can do whatever they want, from my understanding! I mean, after all, we're talking about 3 schools that could be affected, Grambling, Southern and Alabama State. Are these schools guarannteed to win the SWAC?

Nah. For what? PWC conferences don't all finish their seasons at the same time. Some conferences have championship games, others don't. That's life. It's really a terrible idea. Why should a conference champion risk having some players injured in a post-season classic with a Celebration Bowl coming up. Let A&T, Hampton and Tenn St. play each other at the end of their seasons and generate that revenue. Those schools chose not to participate in HBCU conferences. They need to go all in where they are now.

Ummmm, there's an easier solution, if they're even interested in playing in the Celebration Bowl. Tenn St., Hampton and NCAT join the MEAC or SWAC and compete for the conference title. They win, they're in...pretty simple!

Let’s stop kicking the can down the road. Not to put words in the mouth of any team , but let’s look at why they left or never wanted to join the SWAC or MEAC. The MEAC missed the opportunity to build the conference so they could have their own conference championship game. If we have teams that want to be HBCUs from the outside let them stay there. Let’s focus on incentives to recruit and make the conference stronger so teams will come or come back. I’ve said this over and over. Let’s find a way to make a bowl series for HBCUs starting with the teams in the SWAC and MEAC.

I don't agree. A&T and Hampton shouldn't have left the MEAC in the first place. TSU should be in the SWAC. Period. And we're just going to rule out the SWAC, period, if one of the 3 listed teams end up with a record better than the SWAC champ? This is not a good idea.

I like the idea & I have an even better idea 😀 Why don't the MEAC & SWAC take all of their Profits & put it into 1 HBCU to create a Super HBCU for the Real Estate & Facilities needed to get into the FBS that will help finance both Conferences! They can work together & pick a year to do this. All they have to do is put a name of the University that they choose in a bag & whichever the MEAC & SWAC School is picked is the choice to become the " Super HBCU 🤑 I'd say go with the Poorest & they can do this once every 5 years. This will instantly change EVERYTHING!

@johnnythornton624 They said tge same thing about Travis Hunter decommiting from FSU for Jackson State & yet it still happened 😀 Once the MEAC & SWAC learn to stop being their own worst enemy & put every penny made together for just 1 year every 5 years for an #HBCU School there will be nothing beyond what they'll be capable of doing. It simply all come down to get to getting over their Anger, Frustration, Jealousy, Envy & Hatred of 1 another & it's only up from there! The potential to make Billions are there for the taking.

This is a fact because of the most important part of it all ( Recovery ) So now it literally almost forces the SWAC to play the roster to prevent injury for an entire season. This will tell who have depth or not but no matter what it will still equal a loss for the MEAC because Jackson State are going to beat them soundly 🐅 It'll make sense after they beat UL Monroe

@DustyBrother2 Yeah Right! They'll easily replace them with an FCS Conference Team who's willing to playing in the Bowl Game & that Train will keep on moving. You gotta remember that this is ESPN we're talking about here & all they care about is Money! Just like the Orange Blossom Classic replaced FAMU & Jackson State They'll also replace the MEAC ( And I hope like Hell they never do that because I want them to still have a Million Dollar Payday for their Conference Champion ) They'll slip another FCS Conference right in & not skip a beat because I figured out that the ppl who wear the ---> [ Funny Hats ] <--- control the Algorithm ( Meaning Disney will never lose profit because of how many fields of Entertainment they're part of including the Porn Industry ) Check out the Riley Reid Impulsive Podcast Interview at the beginning for that little nugget 😉

The SWAC better be smart & utilize their Roster on tbe Field to try & prevent injury. Jackson State have a multiple number of Running Backs who can start so no need to run Irv Mulligan & JD Martin into the ground. If they do this the right way they'll be fine ( By they I mean JSU & FAMU because right now they're the only 2 I see making it the Celebration Bowl ) Go Tigers 🐅

@KenKnucklesKnuckDogg By how the SWAC is set up going into the Celebration Bowl they'll have no other choice but none of this would even be an issue to begin with had they'd just done great Business to begin with instead of great Emotions which has gotten them nowhere Athletically! The MEAC is basically Finished so they don't matter because of their Bad Decision Making! I'm more concerned with the health of these Players with Head Coaches, Staff & the Administration in place who can't provide them with the resources needed to offset the handicaps in place. This is where an Ed Reed, Ray Lewis & ect would have been Perfect as a Head Coach because they unlike the rest can get the Athletes needed along with the Resources to back them up to compete at any given moment because of their depth so the handicaps are now gone. This season will not be the case because they won't have anytime to properly prepare. The SWAC should have Bern prepared for a move like this but when there's no one in the HBCU Space with Foresight Forward Thinking who makes Great Decisions this is what you get & now ppl are stuck with deciding on what they're going to do about it when the thought should have already been there. Question to you though ( Which HBCU do you have winning an FBS Game this upcoming Season?

ESPN didn't fumble anything because of the prior agreements made which is the fault of HBCU's but in 2027 it will be a different matter. Till then there's nothing that can be done because of the way they've put themselves at the mercy of others due to not having any value to negotiate a better deal at a lower time length. Those who can attract the casual audience will always hold value when it comes to negotiating. Without anything in place to attract them ( Ed Reed, Ray Lewis, Hines Ward, Andre Johnson ) They will devalue HBCU's because to them there is nothing to attract who they're trying to bring to the product.

Aside from player safety, they moved it so they wouldn't lose viewership to the College Football Playoffs and the NFL. You moved it up a week early, knowing the FCS Playoffs would air their top quarterfinal game on ESPN at noon, which was the highest-rated game in the entire playoff last season.

If people think it is so unfair, then don't renew the celebration bowl contract (SWAC) or pay 6 schools to join the MEAC, so that the MEAC can have a championship game. ESPN has the media contract for the Celebration Bowl and they can move the game to whatever date they want and there is nothing you can do about (deal with the reality of the situation).
