I played it when it was out. It was amazing. It just needs a graphics mod and that would be awsome. There is a project where someone is porting it to VR, maybe with vorpox but I think with unity

This is how I expect the next-gen 3D Mario to look. Mario Odyssey had outdated textures, lighting, and vegetation. You should continue this Mario project.

With working crawling there, I really REALLY want to know if quadrupedal avatars are a possibility. One of the big things I've missed is being able to play as a quadruped, and no games have made any real effort to solve it (other than a publication from November 21st of this year that tried to solve it called 'Dog Code: Human to Quadruped Embodiment using Shared Codebooks'). Best I've seen in a commercial product is a game using gorilla-tag style locomotion, while not showing the movement of the body or hind legs. If there are NPCs, I'd also be very excited to see non-humanoids there, too! The Bonelab SDK has been basically useless for adding new enemies with unique behaviors and bodytypes, and at least in my opinion, that's one of the game's biggest follies. Also curious to see if multiplayer might be a possibility. This really is the closest I've seen to the elusive "VR GMod", and that's sort of the dream game for a lot of VR users, at least in the circles I've been around. A multiplayer, moddable, physics-based VR game, with little custom campaigns, gamemodes, and minigames. Even if it was a separate game that came down the road, it'd be extremely exciting to be able to mod in maps and modes from all over the place (especially with your avatar presence stuff, which looks a lot less awkward than having weirdly-proportioned characters in any other game).

As I was trolling through free PCVR indie games on itch one day much earlier this year, and I came across the hybrid locomotion test chamber's page. Now, tech demos don't typically hold my interest for very long (see also: another youtuber's version of 'portal vr' tech demo) but I've played around in there for a couple hours until I was drenched with sweat, but I thoroughly enjoyed it! Since then, I'll occasionally pick it back up to kill a couple hours. Sometimes I'll turn on the "zombies" and run into them without a gun and just punch them, or I'll turn out the lights, grab a small arm and the flashlight, I'll grab an automatic weapon and crank up the zombies, or I'll just play around in the hub for a while... And just today I've found out that you have a youtube channel. Well! I have a devlog rabbit hole to jump down! Unfortunately, my rift's cable died a few months ago, so now I'm waiting for Christmas because I have a quest 3S waiting, but in the meantime, I found something to binge!

Please make a video showcasing this full tilt system fully from the first person POV, even if it’s a bit disorienting in its current state it would be insanely helpful to see what the player is actually seeing. Super excited to see how you handle the player laying on the ground interactions and blending those into the upright standing pose. I think you’re the first to genuinely attempt this so please keep going!

Npcs should be aware of the beings and physical properties around them, they should also know that the beings around them are intelligent enough to have a complicated understanding of the things around them too, and be aware of their objective and what’s going on in that moment.

Omg those NPC mechanics are next kevel. I have never seen anthibg like that! You have done amazing job. What bothers me are the knees on your model. They are just a bit too bent and it makes the model movement look a bit silly. Am I alone with my opinion? Could be. I have autism.

I loved how you spent ages explaining "imposters". You could have just said, in game terms, this is an "extra" (or what's the phrase filmmakers use now, "Background artists"?). They have no consequence to the story or gameplay, they're just there to fill in the world.
@MadsterV2 ай бұрын
Oh god I hate unpredictable order of updates so much. Of course the answer is that updates should depend on the previous state, not the current one, but then you need to store the old and the current copy of the state. It seems this game needed a some more time in the oven, all of these things are fixable and not that terribly hard to fix.

I'm sure sitting characters are just animated meshes, completely seperated from any walking npc's and possible interactions. They don't use a different gameplay state. Those meshes simply have none. Just as dead inside as the average Ubisoft CEO
@NimsoStudios2 ай бұрын
That's basically what an imposter/crowd NPC is. Effectively just objects designed to look like NPCs. In hitman these have a bit more interactivity but you can usually tell immediately that they're not real. GTA is one of few games that uses real NPCs for basically everyone.
@florianschmoldt86592 ай бұрын
@@NimsoStudios A couple of games with bigger crowds switch NPCs and animated meshes based on distance or interactions. I guess they haven't tried to have characters sit and stand up because they would clip through the tables

Repeatable mechanics while is fine, Ubisoft approach kind of take it a step further and probably why most Ubisoft games feels the same in obvious (the infamous towers) or subtle ways.
@MadsterV2 ай бұрын
I always thought of building a little stable of reusable pieces when building games and picking from that with each new project, but it seems Ubisoft just retrofits every game into a standard design: same pieces used in the same way. Of course it gets old, it's the same game!
