Hey! Thanks for your comment. No I did not denoise at all, just pure pure footage out of the camera! I added also a bit of subtle grain to make it more like film. I actually love this camera sensor but it’s really heavy for a solo run and gun film maker

@vittoriobiscaro12453 жыл бұрын
The beauty of the f3 is that it will work with both modern and old lenses (PL and in my case Nikon Mount lenses). I tried it with red pro lenses and the look is very modern, tried with Helios and the look is vintage, you can do it all. Just like any other new PL mount camera

Hello, when I put the S-log otpion on my f3, the White balance button and the Picture profile button get stuck (I cant change the settings). Did you have the same problem ? I am stuck :(
@josuenunez53533 жыл бұрын
Its not a problem. Its just one of the quirks from enabling the RGB output from the camera's A and B SDI ports. If you use the normal SDI out port on the side you can still enter the picture profile menu and select a different white balance. With the RGB output you are stuck with 3200k or 5600k. If you shoot 444 you have the flexibility of changing white balance in post. Its not like Raw but its better than 422 files and its hard to notice degradation.
@laurenramecourt18293 жыл бұрын
@@josuenunez5353 Thanks a lot (I was going crazy)! So, can I use the "normal" SDI out port with my black magic video assist 3G and record in 422 1,5 ?
@josuenunez53533 жыл бұрын
@@laurenramecourt1829 Yea! make sure to turn off the RGB output first. Then, connect your video assist to the SDI out port and then you can record 422HQ 10bit. You can select the Slog on the picture profile.

Congratulations Vittorio for your first film ! Nice work between sound, narrative and imagery. I have this love hate feelings towards my F3. Sometimes it delivers such beautiful filmic images, but sometimes footage reminds me it is still a digital camera... I find that the sensor delivers those magical images depending on the kind of light it hits it. Did you feel that way sometimes in this project?
@vittoriobiscaro12453 жыл бұрын
Hello Alain, thanks! I see what you mean and I experienced this on my camera too. I realized that when outside is cloudy, everything is gray and there are no shadows, the camera doesn't know what to do and the colors look like crap! On the other hand, it shows its full potential in all other kinds of lighting situations, especially for example a strong light source coming into the room from outside, or a windy/cloudy day at the beach, or during the blues hours or the golden hours. But I know that in any case, most of the image that are coming out from my F3 are amazings
@alain76343 жыл бұрын
@@vittoriobiscaro1245 I agree. And lenses probably play a big role. Cheers man, have fun with your cinema projects!
@matthewfarag2 жыл бұрын
Vittorio Biscaro Hi Vittorio, beautiful video. Are there any lenses in particular you feel work really well with the F3? I’m looking at some on eBay and confused about pmw-F3 vs pmw-F3L. I guess the ‘L’ version just comes with the 3 sony lenses.
@josuenunez53533 жыл бұрын
Congratulations, You have gotten the best colors I've seen from the F3! These images are so meaty and look like film. Great grading skills man. The only thing I wish this camera could handle better is the backlit aliasing.
@vittoriobiscaro12453 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I would have never thought to be able to reach those colors in my life ahah! Sorry, I searched online but I don't see what you mean by backlit aliasing. Could you be more precise?
@josuenunez53533 жыл бұрын
Yea, the aliasing is more like a Moire/aliasing that happens when shooting at sharp edges with a light source behind it. Sometimes, When you focus on the sharp edge it will create a blue and green pattern. It not a huge deal but something to be aware of. Is not present most of the time. I only see it when shooting at harsh backlit buildings, windows or lamps. It’s a weird artifact. Nevertheless, everything else about the camera is superb haha.
