Addendum: Finland is the country which has most C64s per capita. Also most Donald Duck readers per capita. Also most Coffee consumed per capita. Also Happiest country in the world, 7 times in a row. Maybe connection is there, maybe not.

I played quite a lot of the Mastertronic games on my Spectrum. Most of them were brilliant, I never saw a sega master system or NES until 1990 when I saw them in comet. We used to skive school and go in there and play them , until they stopped having them turned on during the school day! I remember back in Christmas 88 getting my spectrum + 2 and being happy as a pig in shit! Mastertronic and the other £1.99 budget games were all I could afford back then , I remember getting manic miner , horris goes skiing and attic attack for £1.50 at the oxfam shop!

Interesting video! I used to buy Mastertronic games each week with my pocket money but until just now, watching your video, I just realised that the Mastertronic logo is an 'M'. I know, kinda obvious haha. Never paid too much attention to it before. Thought it was supposed to be some flat-topped pyramid like in the film Bladerunner. Well hell, you learn something everyday, even when it comes 40 years too late.

If Nintendo & Mitsubishi made Classic Edition remakes of the Color TV-Game series, it'll emulate the original variations of the Color TV-Game 6 and 15, Racing 112, the original 6 levels of the Color TV-Game Block Kuzushi and Computer Othello on the Computer TV-Game.

Ghosts wasn't the only CoD game they were involved with. They also did the Survival Chaos Mode for MW3 and provided additional support for Advanced Warfare.

A lot of your criticisms just come from you being bad at the game. It's really not that absurdly difficult as you make it seem. And you got a lot of your facts wrong too like the composer coming back for the sequel (he didn't) or Punisher not being a killer (Spidey literally doesn't team up with him because of him being one).

I had a 64. That was my "it" computer: I did everything on it: homework. Games. Whatever. I'd print my homework on it, and turned it in to the teacher. However, that internet connection sound was a little irritable. Now, I realize that it was the start of the web, but it was still annoying.

This perfectly explains WHY the first Gran Turismo is the best selling PlayStation game of all time. Seriously, positive reviews for one track and undrivable cars are mind-boggling! I played RR4 recently, and it's actually not bad, so I can see it being played by people who didn't have Need for Speed or GT2... then tried RR7 on PS3 and it's uncontrollable, with cars going into drift as soon as you lower the gas, like slightly reducing throttle makes them go full handbrake mode... So this series always fascinated me how it manages to get rave reviews and sell well despite no real cars OR damage model (usually games that didn't get licensed cars got pretty good damage physics, anything from Destruction Derby to GTA to Midnight Club)... I think it's good early reputation from being near first (even Ridge Racer 7 was a PS3 launch title so nothing to compare to), and marketing. Pretty sure it's the only racing series with porn fanart and cosplays of its race queen. It pulled Juiced 2, Street Racing Syndicate and Most Wanted cutscene half-naked girl vibes before it got mainstream.

I tip my hat over to never soft for being good producers, a rare exception of a company that respected their customers. But when things got rough and they weren't making as much profit They chose to die off with grace and honor. They have earned my respect. It's better to die with grace and honor and move on, than to overstay your welcome.

The Atari Lynx was a better machine than both Sega Game Gear and Nintendo Game Boy. But it didn't have the battery technology that it needed during its time.

I kind of feel like I need to at least try it now based on your description of the track design - even if I might quickly turn it off if I get as frustrated as your video suggests. :) I’ve watched many of the Ridge Racer series reviews and retrospectives on KZbin and this is my second time watching yours. Honestly, there are several really pertinent aspects that you cover that I just didn’t see anyone else address and I partly re-watched just to remember which one impressed you with the track design.

Your video is just fine. I suggest that you read "Once Upon Atari" by Howard Scott Warshaw, for he tells about his creation of 3 of the most iconic games for the Atari 2600 and the home video game market crash of 1983/1984. However I have talked with him and I believe that it was the terribly awful cheap garbage that came from the third party publishers that really killed off the industry.

Very nice video...I would just add mention of "Quake Minus 1", a great, overlooked action/strategy game for C64. Almost no one remember it, but I think it is one of the best ever developed for that platform

Wow...those girls were incredibly hot. Yeah, they don't make commercials like they used too anymore and it's a shame. I don't have much experience with the Atari 2600 nor 5200 or Hell, anything from the 1st and 2nd generation. I got my start in the 3rd with the Nes and Master System in 1986. The only Atari console I have ever owned was/is the Jaguar and I loved it. Especially being able to play a competent version of Doom in 1994 on a console. Even as a collector I do not have much experience with Atari's machines.

Those with the 5200 Wico joystick would have had more fun. It has a switch on the bottom that changes it to self centering. I've played Pacman for hours with that thing. But the Atari brand controller is terrible for Pacman. Non self centering is however needed for a small handfull of games like Missile Command and Breakout. But the same Wico stick got ya covered. The 5200 wico command control stick is the best joystick I've ever used in general actually. Its touch sensitive and requires less force than usual 2600 Wicos.. so never have to grip it hard in the hand that holds it, or easily sits on my knee. Analog helps in this way even for digital games. The stick doesnt have to be pushed the full direction to register.
