LPM, soy de Caballito, siempre amé Irlanda desde chiquito, mi primo entrenaba en Ferro, y recién ahora a mis 50 me entero de que en Caballito tenemos o tuvimos una fuerte comunidad irlandesa.

Loved the video!! I've been living 15+ years in the neighborhood and never made the connection between the green color and the Irish (however obvious) Due to the Malvinas war, any part of our history told to us as kids, that would put the UK in a positiive light was made pretend not to have happened, which is absurd! The trains were a huge part of the growth in Argentina's golden years, and at the same time it's been treated with such disregard that there's never been explicit mention of the *irish* working on said trains... you have "el barrio inglés" and "los ingleses del ferrocarril" but nothing of the irish. My, what an eye opener. It would be so great to get the trains rollling again as in our prime... Again, great video!

Argentinians are full of beautiful and poetic chants which stay ringing in your ears long after after the match. I need to visit Buenos Aires and watch a team like Velez rather than the usual 2 suspects of Boca and River.

One of the few stadiums where one can watch the games from the top floors of the neighboring buildings.

Claret & Blue shirts were from West Ham. The original West Ham team was Thames Ironworks where ships were built in East London… Birmingham, where Villa come from, has never been known for producing ships or sailors for that matter.

Excellent video, of course they could have copied that other well known Buenos Aires club and used some county colours (Tipperary for example!)

Interesting video! BTW, Saint Patrick's saltire (the Irish part of the Union Jack flag) is also red and white so at the time these colors represented both England and Ireland (with the United Kingdom).

Saw your Ferro Carril Oeste video and couldn't believe to find my city/team in your channel!! Small world... haha Just to mention some trivia or extra data about Rivadia and Lincoln. There's a picture of Maradona wearing a shirt with the shield of Rivadia de Lincoln. Maradona was the first player to use a personal trainer and that guy was born in Lincoln and was close to Rivadavia, (Fernando Signorini). He eventually became personal trainer of Maradona for many years. That's the reason Maradona had some kind of conection with our city and Rivadia. I think, that's why the mural at 12:05 was painted. Also, I want to clarify that in our city only 2 clubs are popular and have the most fans, so it's practicaly a 2 clubs city. Wich is "Rivadavia" and "El Linqueño", it's the derby here. More people will go to those games (El Linqueño shirt it's the same but with blue stripes). To see more about that search on youtube "Rivadavia vs El linqueño" will be some videos or games about it. And finaly just to mention our city/town despite being in a rural or humble location it's somewhat known in the country for carnivals more than futbol. The reason that venecian carnival figure appear at 3:10. For people that want to know what I mean about our carnivals search on youtube "Carnaval Artesanal de Lincoln" Big dolls and crazy cars are the main atraction. Greetings.

40,000 Irish emigrated to Argentina, mostly from Wexford and Longford / Westmeath. Far more Germans, especially when u include Volga Germans. I am well aware that Arabs are not a country😅.

Éire or Ireland still has not achieved all island independence. A great connection and story, my brother in law is from Argentina. You should cover the story on the GAA clubs in Argentina or if travelling in Chile the story behind O’Higgins.
