Great buy and excellent light but common problem is the pull chain breaks. I fixed my exact same Harbor Freight 48” LED Light in under 5 minutes. 1. Take and awl or very small flat head screwdriver and shove it in small square hole on top of light and pry out the black end cap. Once the little tab releases then use a larger flat head screwdriver to pry out end cap completely. 2. Pull out the small chain switch. 3. Cut both black wires as close as you can to switch housing. 4. Connect wires together with a small Marrs type connector and tape securely. 5. Shove connector back into frame and put black end cap back in place, tapping lightly as needed to secure. 6. Plug in light into a switched power bar and you are finished.

Thanks for doing a review of these lights. I literally just added these to my Amazon list before I watched. I thought they looked kinda cool, but watching you disassemble them and test them, I'm going to remove them. They might be good for some uses, but I need great durability and illumination for regular off-road driving.

Some of you might attempt following 'other video instructions' of pulling the wires out of the connector without the need to cut or solder. DON't DO IT ! They more often require excess force pulling them out damaging the ends and or where the wire meets. Splice in new wires with new connectors as this video shows 'over top of the harness'. Make them a bit longer. If you're really smart, you won't do either. Remove the wires out of the connector and go 'over top the harness'. Put the square connector ends onto the coil in the correct order. Then push electrical duct putty in. It will secure them and keep the moisture out. The putty can be removed if needed, with a small pic etc. These connectors are another example of Fords better ideas.
@patrickbriceno8681
@patrickbriceno8681 4 ай бұрын
There are small lock pins on the inside of the connector that you depress to allow the existing cable to slip out of the broken connector. It's very, very easy. Trust me... I've literally done hundreds, if not thousands.

Have you had any problems with the tires hitting the strut/spring/suspension assembly while off-roading? I ordered BF KO2 255/55/18 from Costco and they wouldn’t install it because they said it was too close and would void the warranty.

I had to run to the store to get a bigger pair of pliers for the wire closure, but otherwise I had mine fixed in probably 5-10 minutes. This was hours ago but I made sure to come back to say thank you very much for a great video on this issue, because it helped me a lot and the last time this happened I paid $300 to have it fixed. Now I fixed it myself for $12 since I didnt have good pliers to put the hose back on lol

Depends what the texture looks like on the walls some cases you have to wait 5 minutes almost when it's drying up to take a putty knife & very lightly no pressure on the knife to smooth out the new texture to blend in to look like the older texture.
