Hi, wallet backup (recovery seed) and passphrase are two different things. By using wallet backup you can recover the default wallet. If you use hidden wallet protected by passphrase on top of that you'll need both 1) wallet backup & 2) passphrase to recover the hidden wallet. Hope it makes sense✌️

Computer power to crack this is ever-increasing. To remain safe you will need to add more words. 12 words is hackable, 20 not so much, 24 not at all realistically (today).

Hi, it's not possible to change the passphrase, as each passphrase creates a new hidden wallet. So you cannot change an already existing passphrase, but you can simply stop using it and move your coins to a newly created passphrase. Let's say you used passphrase "Libertus21M" but you want to use "Libertus22M" so you create this new one and transfer all your assets to this newly created one. PS: Don't use easy to guess passphrase such as your nick 😉

Hi, with Trezor Safe 5, you can choose a number of words for your Backup (including the 24-word option). However, we've recently introduced a new standard that has 20 words and allows you to go with Multi-share Backup, and this is the one we recommend. You can find more details about it here: trezor.io/learn/a/multi-share-backup-on-trezor We also offer a Trezor Keep Metal 20-word version for this Backup format. However, you can choose the 24 words seed if you want to, it's up to you!

No, why it's very important to keep your device as well as your 12 words/24words/etc separate.

If an attacker has physical access to your hardware, he can try various attacks to bypass your PIN and read out the hardware for the keys. Some have done this in the past with varying success. Having a hardware wallet with a secure element makes this practically impossible so get a Tresor Safe 3 or 5. You still need to set a PIN as a first layer of defense of course

Hi, if you lose your Trezor or if someone steals it, they cannot access your device if it's protected by a PIN. That's why it's important to set your PIN and choose a strong one! An attacker can try a physical access attack to bypass the PIN, but Trezor has protection against it. Trezor Safe 3 and 5 have a secure element chip that has even stronger protection against physical attacks. If you are super concerned about your device's physical security you can use Passphrase - an additional layer of protection. i did get your response but it only links to the youtube video??? i found it on the trezor website under requirements for support of the software. it is very clear that it doesnt support firefox or safari for mac. i can download chrome which will work on mac or trezor but i really dont need 3 browsers. its also not clear whether there is support for new macs with M1, M2, or M3. that would be great to know for sure since i will be buying a new computer soon. i was actually considering another option but i really thought the trezor was a better choice as long as it worked well with mac

MacOS, in general, is supported, and you can run the Trezor Suite Desktop app on your Mac! In general, we recommend using the desktop app. All Mac chips are supported!

If you forget your PIN, you can reset it using your wallet backup. On the other hand - if you forget your passphrase- that's unrecoverable. No one but you knows the passphrase, and that's why you need to remember it well! Nobody can recover the passphrase if you forget it.

Hi, the process is the same; all cryptocurrencies work on the same principle - you need to send your coins to the address generated by your Trezor. With Trezor One, the thing is that it does not support Cardano or Solana. Hi, you shouldn't add the contract number in your Trezor Suite app! All you need to do is to send your token to your Trezor generated ETH address. Once the token is sent to the address, it will appear in your ETH account under "Tokens" tab! @@TrezorWallet This is not correct. I tried sending my Fetch tokens to my ETH 1 address generated by Trezor and it converted the coins to ETH with no tokens showing in the token tab. Only the eth balance. I have a Safe 5. Unbelievably complicated

Hi, BEP20 tokens are supported by Trezor firmware however you won’t be able to access and send your token in any Trezor interface. However, you can still use 3rd party app such as Metamask with your Trezor to be able to manage your BEP20 tokens and keep them protected by hardware wallet 🔒

Thon: a passphrase adds entropy to the existing 12, 20 or 24 seed words, it does not replace them. It is completely different from the brain wallet you refer to, where a weak guessable seed (like parts of a poem) are easy to brute force and crack

You should store a passphrase the way you should ideally store your seed - in a metal backup. However, it's important to say that these two things should always be stored separately.

Hi Graham, at the moment, Trezor cannot be connected to iOS devices due to Apple's MFi program's strict terms and conditions that are not acceptable to us. For the upcoming model, we'll be looking into the possibility of making it happen.
