What do you mean that European yarns cost the same in the US as Europe… that doesn’t make sense to me. Did you look into tax rebates?

I used to feel the same way until I watched Handmade by Florence's recent video of her Step by Step cardigan tutorial. She also uses this Noro yarn 😀She makes it very easy to understand how to do the double knit button band.

Love your sheep and your moose is great. I don't crochet well, so knitting critters works best for me, I love the designs by Claire Garland, they are small but so cute, right now I'm in the process of making the "Emotional Support Chicken" I find it a great break from making garments.

Hello Svenja, I came across your podcast by chance and I’m glad I did! I dig in your timeless yet contemporary style, those staples knits in neutral, toned down colors… I’m French so I’ll keep note of the Faroese wool you ordered here to pair with mohair for your jacket: you certainly were able to convey the perfect feel of the combo! I love miniature stuff and I am charmed by your little knitted stuffed animals, please continue sharing! As I’ve never knitted small circumferences, I’d be super interested if you would share the tools and techniques you used. Looking forward to the next episode, kind regards, Marie (Bordeaux).

Hi! Thanks so much for watching and leaving a nice comment ☺️ so glad you like my knitting and overall style! Not sure where you are located, but the shop I ordered from is Laine des Îles. Highly recommend!
@MarieOdt334003 ай бұрын
@@svenjaknits Yup, they’re located in Brittany, so further up north from where Bordeaux is (Southwest of France, world-renowned for its vineyards). I’ll still have to order but shipping expenses should be reasonable, just like the price of this yarn so thank you for the finding (the yarn + the niche on-line shop)! I wonder how you ever came across with it as Snaeldan is such a confidential brand? Anyways, cheers to you🍷☺️

I've been looking for a knitting vlogger who does stuffed animals along with typical knits, yay! Your sweaters are lovely, the sheep are adorable, and that moose 😍 I grew up traveling with my dad in the airforce and we were stationed in Alaska for 3 years. Your little moose friend instantly brought me back to that childhood 🥰 Thank you for sharing!

I got this same yarn after watching this video of yours because your sweater was so beautiful. It’s been years since I knitted a sweater and I’m really having a problem with the instructions on this cardigan. So I was wondering if you could help me. The only other option I have is to pay $35 an hour And make an appointment for a local yarn shop where I did not buy the yarn. After the cast on, are you supposed to knit a row in order to place the markers? Then for row one, where it says turn, are you supposed to do something there besides just turn? Like are you supposed to take one more stitch then turn, then pull the yarn into the back to make a double stitch? I am totally stuck. Appreciate any help anyone can give me.

Glad to see you back! I really love your two sheeps❤ I have a question for you as regards mohair. You said using Knitting for Olive mohair with another yarn was a good combination. So far I only used knit picks mohair for my weekend v-neck slipover along with Wool of the Andes and it shreds so much. It's everywhere around me, on my desk at the office... from your experience, would you say that Knitting for Olive mohair shreds less?
@svenjaknits3 ай бұрын
Absolutely. I have had no issues with KFO mohair and shedding, definitely worth a try if you like mohair!

I just wanted to mention a cabled pattern that I made for my granddaughter (in Ravelry). Baby’s Aran Jacket by Paton’s. Beautiful result…much bigger size than I expected (age 2 of 3 instead of 12 months)…a bit of a pain to piece together but ends up with a lot of structure.

I learned how to knit using the Portuguese method and WOW is purling so easy, even easier than knitting using that method. Sometimes I will turn a project inside out in order to do more purling because it is so easy using Portuguese. I would recommend for anyone to give it a try. The only disadvantage I see is that I have to be a little bit careful when doing any lace work because Portuguese is really great for sock knitting as it makes it super easy to knit tight. You can take advantage of the natural tension created by how you hold the yarn. However, once you get the hang of it it's pretty easy to release tension while doing lace work. I have nearly forgotten how to do continental and English style because once I tried Portuguese that was it for me. And I had been a knitter for many years when I switched, so even for someone who has been knitting a certain way, like I had, and become second nature, I still recommend giving it a try just to see how you might like it. I got hooked almost instantly. I love this sweater and very much enjoying watching this vlog. The yarn is absolutely gorgeous! And your knitting work is beautiful as well.
