I also have the urge to make something for myself. I realized I only two items I made and wear! But I am currently making the Lamia Wrap (Tunisian Crochet) and will make the sweater for my SIL.

Hi Svenja! Loved the podcast. I'm also a Maine knitter who is currently trying to finish a hubby Christmas sweater in Woolstok worsted while eyeing a New Years cast on in Scout. 😊

No way! What a coincidence! I ended up returning my Scout yarn...just wasn't the right color in the end.

Your hat whether it’s right or wrong still I’d very beautiful! I’m having trouble with the Oslo hat as well that I’ve put it aside but seeing some comments maybe I am doing it right. Will pick it up again soon /. Your husband’s sweater is looking great. Im a terrible seamer and I just did one Some tips I’ve learned for myself for next time. Work at a table not in your lap. Makes it easier to lay out and measure updo both sides get seamed at same rate I also used some plastic clips so when seaming it again would seam at same rate. I’ve done it so many times I’d finish seaming but I still had more to seam on the back side and the front had a few inches ( not sure if that makes sense or not) but clips have helped me

I made the Svenson for my brother. My first cabled and seamed sweater. Definitely felt like there was no end in sight at times, but the result was worth it! Brooklyn Tweed has a tutorial that I used and I’m not a sewist, it turned out great!

Love your Svenson sweater. Definitely a labour of love. The advantage of a seamed, cable men’s sweater is that it lighter on your hands on wrists. Also the seams will give more structure to a heavy sweater. So win, win. Looking forward to seeing it modelled 😀

I always crochet the panels together with slip stitches. It's easy and if it's not right, you can take it off in no time.🤷‍♀️ Knitty greetings, Lily 🌸

Hi Svengali, all your projects are beautiful. I don’t think you need to add a sturdier yarn to sew up your husband’s sweater. You should definitely block the pieces first though before you sew them together as that will make it easier to sew together.

The Svenson pullover really looks beautiful, but what a huge project! I knitted the Billie sweater which is similar in design, but in the round which makes such a difference. But still it was a lot of knitting and the cables really hurt my hands. I feel for your hands! Hope your husband will appreciate the result and realize all of the thoughts and work that has gone in to it.
