Definitely look into Kate Snow’s Preschool Math at Home for TK. Your charter school funds will cover the book too. We used it alongside the gentle and classical preschool curriculum and loved it! They are simple activities that build upon each other and are really well thought out. You might also like the gentle and classical preschool…they focus on letters, numbers, manners, hygiene, bible, theology, art and music, but do it in a very simple way! And for Spanish I would look into “Homeschool Languages” I haven’t used it, but it looks pretty cool and hands on for kids. Looks like a fun year though!

Over the past year I have had a big shift where I no longer see makeup and fashion as a chore and now find it very fun to play around with. I think for myself, part of this was finding creators that I enjoyed following in those areas. I used to be very bitter towards these things because I didn’t know what I was doing, and I still don’t! But now I just took the pressure off and have fun with it. Hopefully this helps in some way 😊

You are so brave Tay, thanks for sharing this! It really struck a cord with me when you mentioned the lack of support, or even more so, resistance from your family, as I have dealt with similar. My parents are both primary school teachers and they both teach at the same school and my husband is also currently studying to become a teacher...so the irony that I am going to be homeschooling our children is funny although challenging. I have been praying about it for years and have had confirmation from the Lord a lot, and praise Him for if he has called you to it, He will sustain you through it. After years now of prepping them for this, we start official school lessons next year with our oldest, they are very sceptical soon and can be still judgemental however they have come around to it a lot more now. Praise God! I do believe that God will continue to work on their hearts, as well as my own in this journey. It was so nice to hear that I am not alone in this, God continue to bless you and your family abundantly! You are doing so great! Love Steph, from Australia <3

As a homeschool mama of 8 and #9 on the way, my mindset has changed and my new identity IS a wife, a mother, a homemaker and homeschool teacher. I take mich pride in those titles. I think a lot of times we can allow ourselves to get depressed and overwhelmed bc we're stuck looking backwards instead of embracing our new identity. This is what we were created for. I do agree you need tome for yourself to decompress, rest, have quiet time ect. Im thankful my husband dies not expect me to be perfect. I sleep in when i want sometimes we do school on the evening. Or simply just skip and relax for a day. Homeschooling doesn't have to be so rigid and in schedule like you said 👌🏽. I have the gift of 2 older kids so they help a lot, i have a play room and send all the children there to play while I do the things I need to do for my husband, myself or home. Thinfs get easier as your children grow older especially if you train them and give them responsibilities. The hard part only truly lasts for the first 7-9 yrs after that you've raised a little helper. Home economics is important in our homeschool so all the chilt have to pitch in and we shouldn't feel guilty for that like the world will try to make you feel.
