As a homeschool mama of 8 and #9 on the way, my mindset has changed and my new identity IS a wife, a mother, a homemaker and homeschool teacher. I take mich pride in those titles. I think a lot of times we can allow ourselves to get depressed and overwhelmed bc we're stuck looking backwards instead of embracing our new identity. This is what we were created for. I do agree you need tome for yourself to decompress, rest, have quiet time ect. Im thankful my husband dies not expect me to be perfect. I sleep in when i want sometimes we do school on the evening. Or simply just skip and relax for a day. Homeschooling doesn't have to be so rigid and in schedule like you said 👌🏽. I have the gift of 2 older kids so they help a lot, i have a play room and send all the children there to play while I do the things I need to do for my husband, myself or home. Thinfs get easier as your children grow older especially if you train them and give them responsibilities. The hard part only truly lasts for the first 7-9 yrs after that you've raised a little helper. Home economics is important in our homeschool so all the chilt have to pitch in and we shouldn't feel guilty for that like the world will try to make you feel.

When my daughter was 2 she was very sick in the hospital, a severe illness, and I was dumbfounded by the commentary on how "she should be able to say this or that." My husband literally said to the doctor: How about we save her life first, then we can worry about her speech! The doctor apologized, but it really shows how people can be so careless. I like your content - I appreciate your honest demeanor. I really can relate to the comments from people who underestimate and put down...

I’m so sorry you had to experience that. Unfortunately it seems like that kind of behavior from a doctor is to be expected now…such a shame.

@@tayshabib Yeah, I'm a nurse, and I just could not believe my ears. Such a lack of perpective... but Praise God she is 7 now and talking just fine lol!

I’m right there with ya. My oldest didn’t talk until right after two but she hasn’t stopped since. Both of my girls didn’t walk until about 18-20 months but they are so very smart. The 2 year old already recognizes letters because of the wooden puzzles. We did try the Melissa and Doug one that had the letters with an image but that didn’t work. She just needed a regular alphabet puzzle. They will get it when they do and then they will take off and learn so much

De-schooling is the detox period and un-schooling is a homeschooling style. They are actually 2 different things with deceptively similar names.

Yes!! Thank you for sharing! I always mix the terms up but didn’t want to take the video down just because of that mix up 😅

Great video Tay! I can relate with the controlling mother- I had to surrender that before God and still continue to. I love the support from your spouse ❤ Do you have a subject that you struggle teaching?
@tayshabib
@tayshabib Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! Yes, the surrender happens daily for me as well. I’d say my biggest struggle right now is not being able to teach them everything all at once. They are so inquisitive. My oldest is an engineer to his core and wants to learn everything he can. I feel like I can’t get books and resources to him fast enough haha

Just found your channel! I’m the same with homeschooling, I have a ‘routine’ but so many things are first thing in the morning so often every day looks different but at the same time it’s kinda consistent if that makes sense?

Yes! Makes perfect sense. Exactly how things are for us too. Finding that balance has been the biggest hurdle this year - in my opinion

Hi! The blog is under construction right now but will be back up before BTS season starts. In the mean time, most of the things I have linked can be found on LTK or in my highlights on IG. Sorry I don’t have any other platform with written content but if you’re a visual learner I have TONS of content on TikTok as well 🫶🏼
