@SFARCO I actually am getting close to 500 miles already. The original tires should last another 500 miles, hopefully. I am switching to motorcycle tires before winter. I have 0 complaints or concerns. The range is 10 miles each power bar. Even in 110° heat, there is no noticeable reduction range, thay I notice. As an almost every day rider over 66, I couldn't be happier. When I post a comment on the aostirmotor's youtube channel, they respond very quickly to it. I try to pedal 5-10 miles a each day except when it's raining. Thanks.

@SFARCO I agree. As I ride dusty trails in the desert daily, I have to wash it occasionally. Basically a bucket wash, light hose off, not the display or motor, controller, getting the wires wet at the controller. Rain riding? Absolutely not. I want my 2 ebikes to last years.

Great find with that high quality solar panel. Seen another video showcasing a 200w foldable panel lile this, high quality and expensive as well. i Just ordered my MPT-7210A solar charge controller to experiment charging my 52V battery for my DIY e-bike! Love this setup for E-Bikepacking. I would love to see more on the breakdown of the box, did you add a Solar Boost adapter inline with the panels before the MPTT controler? Solar panel > boost controller > MPTT charge controller > battery? Thx
@SFARCO2 ай бұрын
Thanks. The mpt-7210A is both a mppt and boost controller. If you are wanting to only charge your bike battery, then that is all you need.
@TheCompjunkie2 ай бұрын
@@SFARCO I did see that in the listing as well. So you essentially printed the case, added a DC to DC 12V Buck converter, then added the USB Port adapter, that step it from 12V to 5V USB. Ya that isn't a bad project at all. I'll prob make a case for mine as well. I have built a few battery boxes with a similar design. Converted my 52V E-Bike battery for use in my boat battery box, so I can use my minn kota trolling motor. More range and only 9lbs to carry! Compared to my heavy marine battery!

amazing tune up of this bike, i got it recently and i realized how vulnerable the joint for folding the bike is in the rain i wouldnt call it water proof at all so here is my question what is that thing on your frame covering the entire thing up and did you also add something from the bottom where the cables go inside the frame ? there is a big hole too, one last question how did you change the seat i just got new one but after removing it i realized i have no idea how to take off the last piece of metal from the tube
@SFARCO2 ай бұрын
Thanks. It's a battery cover I got it from Amazon but I had to modify it a bit. I had to shorten the velcro so it stops at the hinge. Really easy to do, I just cut off the extra velcro and stitched the end so it doesn't unravel. amzn.to/3NHkey5 I did not plug the bottom because I'm worried about trapping water and dirt it there. And the seat post clamps to the seat. Should see a bolt you'll need to loosen.

I Do like it better than my last to or current prototype. Mines light but I got a ways to go. You do want your panels as straight as possible though. I actually run my 5amp panel and set up and with magic diodes I can use a wall charger and panels at the same time for double the current. oh never mind I use the same charger. I like the little box you made that's neat. Awesome vids keep it up! Your 7210A seems to top at the same spot unless I use dual PSU
@SFARCO3 ай бұрын
Thanks, I know the panels should be flat, but they should also be tracking the sun ideally. This solar panel has more diodes than your typical panel, so it should perform better in partial light. So the plan is to get whatever amount of charge I can while I ride and finish it off when I get to camp. Then I can properly position the panel for maximum energy production.

@SFARCO3 ай бұрын
If you talking about riding full throttle, no pedaling, then no. It's not designed for that. I made it to extend the range for bike camping trips. While riding, it won't be getting full voltage because it won't have the ideal angle to the sun. But when you're at camp, you can angle it properly and get better performance.

This is a very sweet setup and well thought out. I love how the system remains primed due to the marine disconnects utilized. Was there any reason that you decided to go this route rather than one of the cap adapters such as the Sealy JCA2? Is there anything that you wish you had done differently?? Thank you so much for any additional information you can offer. This thing seems great!
@SFARCO5 ай бұрын
Thanks! The main reason was for the marine fittings, to both keep it primed, and leak free. I wanted to keep the fill port clear, so I didn't have to pull a siphon tube out and make a mess when filling. As far as changes, it pretty darn close to perfect for me. With one exception, if I forget to vent the lid for long runs, it will create a vacuum that will stop fuel flow. So I am going to use one of those lid adapters to install a vacuum release.
