So based on the comments expressed by the speakers in the video, will there be future tweaks made to the 16.8? Like Jeremy said, he'd prefer the 16.8 to be a bit narrower at the gunwales for paddle-strokes, and this wish was transferred to the 17.8. So will this be done for the 16.8 also at some point?
@SwiftCanoeKayak2 күн бұрын
it's possible but the demand would have to justify the cost. It would require building and tooling a new mould that has a new shape, which is a significant process and cost.

Looks Great, question........ with the 3 seat option, can the front and rear seats be removed for solo tripping? To do so, would they all need to be installed on the rail system as the central seat is now installed?

Do you manufacture the pack seat cushioning and backs yourself? Is it possible to purchase these by themselves?
@John-vi4ys3 күн бұрын
I believe these are made specifically for Swift, if not by them directly. I just received my Prospector 14 Pack boat, and when I ordered it I asked about purchasing an extra padded seat to go on the molded bucket base just to have an extra, and if I recall correctly they were in the range of $180.00. Best to call Swift to get a firm price and shipping. Unless you are lucky enough to live close to them😛

@JeremyVoreАй бұрын
Thank you for the opportunity to share my boat and outfitting with your customers and audience! It should be noted that that the pristine-looking bottom of the canoe that you see at the start of the video has had the snot kicked out of it all year, including high centering on the point of a stump, scraping over gravel bars, bumping and sliding over logs in the dark at race speed, and running up on rocky Lake Superior beaches. I haven't done any buffing, polishing, waxing, or repairs to the hull - that's what it looks like after a season with over 1000 miles under the hull. I am very impressed and happy with the durability.❤ If anyone is curious, that's the Kevlar Fusion layup with Textreme Innegra-Carbon fabric, a carbon Kevlar plain weave interior, and the epoxy resin option with UV Shield.

Thanks for that extra info. I'm looking at Swift for a lake as well as river tripper and deciding if it can handle some bumps into rocks during moderate Class II's. I've been looking at what you do on Swift's for quite some time and you have elegantly solved some of the clunky solutions I have come up with on my own and plan to use what your company offers, if I do go with Swift.
@redleafdesigns2157Ай бұрын
@@wondermonkeyoutdoorsIf I knew it was a boat aimed at river tripping in Class II or III conditions, I would get the Kevlar Expedition layup with the Basalt-Innegra commingle fabric and epoxy resin system. In fact, that’s how they’re building my Dragonfly 15 right now. :-)

I’m a long-time customer of Red Leaf Designs. Meticulous attention to detail and design. They can make custom covers for various boats and everything is done just so. Instructions are, again, meticulously and clearly thought through, to include some very helpful videos. They are serious paddlers on serious waters (Lake Superior, UP North Shore).
