A year later and the price have only continued to increase. I buy Vital Farms 18ct for almost $12. The 12 count is now about $8. Up from the $5.64 you show here. Such a shame.

So it's probably breakeven if you calculate total cost of owning chickens such as the coop, maintenance, ground cover, replacement chickens every couple of years, etc. Obviously it is ideal to have our own chickens, but purely from a cost standpoint, it's most likely breakeven or a loss if one only have a few chickens and they aren't enough to cover total egg usage per month.

If you plan to freeze the extra, would you brine them first for a day then freeze or freeze right away?

You just did food costs. what about bedding, calcium and stuff like that. Shouldn't that be accounted for?

How do you prevent the beetles or bugs from eating the eggplant? I lost my eggplant to bugs and too much water from the rain.

I have a rose garden & the biggest issue I have is Japanese Beetles, I'm not sure if your method would work to kill these types of pests, I think it would definitely kill the larva in the ground but not sure about the adults.

Amazing growth, gives me alot of hope going forward. Any chance you could share what kind of soil you have used in those planters if you happen to use store bought? I live in northwest Florida and am struggling with getting my rosemary started, I think due to soil retaining too much moisture

How much yield can you typically get from from a greenhouse? I know it would vary from the plant and the produce it itself can make but generally is it worth getting for fresh vegetables in the winter?
@MiniUrbanFarmАй бұрын
When I started using a greenhouse to start seedlings I got a better and faster germination rate, plus I got to start seeds ahead of time so my plants were ahead of schedule

That cedar is definitely not the traditional Western Red Cedar that you think of when you think of a cedar deck or cedar closets. That is probably a white cedar, which does exist here in the USA but I will assume since it was so affordable that everything came from China, which means it is may be Chinese Fir (Cunninghamia lanceolata) which is in the cypress family and has similar anti-rot properties as cedar but is not as dense, which is probably why you noticed it getting dented easily. Regardless, it seems to be a very effective material to get a nice greenhouse that many garden enthusiasts can afford. Thanks for the review!
