Very good enthusiast's vid. I remember Bahamas at Dinting, shuffling up and down like a zoo animal. Much better out and about. I suppose they'll all have to have pantographs and immersion heaters in a bit - like those on the Zillertalbahn. Hope you all enjoyed your trip. You are probably going to be snowed in this weekend I expect. We might have the odd shower in Kent . . . but it will be cold water at this time of the year.

I've not been since 1977. I'm kind of surprised it's still going strong. An attraction needs some fun stuff which isn't always in keeping. A once over will probably do it good, but let's hope they didn't over promise.

It might not have changed massively since 1977 to be fair. The changes coming up are making it more accessible for all and otherwise subtle changes. The modern shop and cafe will be pulled down and new buildings built which will be more in keeping with the original buildings. I think it’ll be good.

Heeeey! I've been meaning to watch this one for a while. What a nice railway, what lovely engines, and how cool is that simulator! Fun 😁 I'm interested to visit here as it's 3 foot gauge, - rather rare for this part of the world! And.... it's the same gauge as all that American stuff I'm into. 😂 There's a beautiful locomotive called Eureka which was built in the 1870s and lives in Nevada. The owner, Dan Markoff, rarely takes it to visit railroads. Yeeears ago, he planned to bring Eureka to the Isle of Man. It NEARLY happened, but didn't in the end. He has some contacts in the military and he was planning to FLY the engine over!!! But... oh well. Great video, beautiful and fun. Thanks Becs! 😊

Ohhh I've been fancying one of these for a while too! Really good to see a first try on it. I've seen a number of videos by people who have gotten familiar with it, so this is good! Picture looks really nice. I tried using a GoPro as my main cam for my Scotland trip (currently editing) and I didn't like it at all. Very short battery life, and I just couldn't turn it on quickly to film! I missed so many moments so I was very frustrated with it. haha! I had to keep yelling at my mate "No, come back! The camera is still turning on!" Can you do a quick point and shot from being turned off on this one? and..... can you turn off the gimbal and just use it as a normal fixed camera? Thanks for this! 😁

Very good and not too long a vid at all. Never actually been on the Rheidol. I saw a vid somewhere covering some of the locos moved to that museum, and they seem to have a well equipped workshop somewhere. Don't know what's at devils bridge. I think they should be running main line steam on the Cambrian cost - if it works in the wilds of Scotland ..
@BecsterDotCom
@BecsterDotCom 4 ай бұрын
Thank you! The museum is lovely - lots of light and the block flooring is fantastic. There must be a workshop somewhere as Palmerston has been there for a refurb. At Devil’s Bridge there’s a cafe and over the road a chocolate shop I believe. At the station they were running driver experiences through the summer. And of course you have the walk down to see the bridges. Steam along the Cambrian Coast would be AMAZING! But there’s some compatibility problem with something on steam trains now. Don’t know what but someone more technical than me could explain

That railway looks very neat and well painted. They seem to have several steam locos now including a new Polar Bear called Brown Bear. The original Polar Bear does the rounds from Amberley periodically - seems to be needing a new boiler currently though. That sort of car horn is a Klaxon Klaxette. Always sounds like the driver is breaking out and making a run for it. Funny sign at Lime Kiln halt . . .
