LOVE using Descript’s eye contact feature! It’s so unique and useful. Having the ability to edit videos from your browser without downloading the app onto your computer has also been a total game changer. Descript really has become such a useful tool for me!

This is one of the worst features. I’ve tried this multiple times and never works. It even close. I spoke to Descript and they say it’s in beta and is having problems. I only paid for the app for this feature

A simple add-on to improve the result is a hair light. It will help the camera separate you from the background and give you an even better result. Then, depending on your lighting, you can add pictures of rooms in the background. Make sure to match the position of the lighting in the video and the image you are using. Use an image with a little blur to make the viewer feel there is a depth of field; it just looks better.

So there are no default AI voice profiles to use at all?

I love this feature but there really needs to be an AI assist. Like I would highlight a few paragraphs of text and the AI determines the ideal b roll clip for each sentence or block of sentences and automatically inserts them. Otherwise the process just takes way way too long. Right now I’m forced to use invideo for this service, then I have to import the lower quality clips.

Do I understand correctly that if I remove a part of a line, it cuts the video? For example, someone fumbles and says : "I mean...I... well I... What you need to know is (...)" If I want to just have the captions from the start of the correct sentence, it also cuts the audio and video of the fumbling?

This is one of the best promo videos I've ever seen. Super entertaining, informative. And it perfectly captures the emotions that people really have when using it. Even better, the visual style continues right into their branding. I'm studying it to make my own promo video...by of course course dropping this video into Descript! And yes, Descript is now our most useful and indispensable tool, alongside Google Suite and Canva. Even with other video editing programs adding transcription editing, Descript is still an essential tool that wins on simplicity and versatility.

I have a question before I invest. When I remove words from a transcript, will the captions remain synced to what is said? I need to add captions to zoom calls that already happened. I got screwed by another paying product: once I had imported the captions to my editing app, there was a 30 seconds delay by the end of a 2 hours zoom call, between spoken words and their captions

VST or AU plugins would be awesome, studio sound ends up cutting out some words totally or the ends of words which then involves lots of edits and regeneration to get something that works

the way you explain sequences doesnt help for a beginner. I think you should do a better job in explaining on how to apply studio sounds (or any other effect) to a more complex project with different imported footage. Or even to 1 piece of footage that is cut up into multiple clips. Its unclear on how to apply studio sound on this . thanks

Love using Descript. I have recorded and edited 22 radio shows so far. They need to be 27 min 45 sec and Descript makes this easy. However I usually have 4 or 5 areas where transcription is not completed. I get things like: Okay Okay Okay, or Transcription By...... , just ....... How can i get theses areas transcribed. I have good Internet.

This is great. However, how do you schedule the podcast? Usually, when I host a podcast, I don't send the link at the moment; I schedule it and send the link in advance. I'm excited about that feature. That is when I'll start using it.
