Hi Tucker, thanks for this great explanation. Here are my 2 cents: I (80kg) own the V4 6‘0 and totally agree with the fun aspect you mentioned, it felt like a 5,5 and is really manouvreable for its size. Pumping is easy and intuitive, quite traditional in an elliptical way. You can see the trailing edge breathing while doing this which’s works great. But I wished it hat a bit more bottom end grunt. Especially compared to the new Duotone unit 6,0 which is a real powerhouse with its really deep foil section but on the other hand this felt much heavier and less playful. The Origin 5,5 gets you up nearly as early as the cwc 6,0 - For the price of crispiness / sharpness and performance. In the end the cwc is a strike by character - a bit more technical to ride but that gives you soooo much back. What foils do you recommend to ride with the cwcs? Eagles? Cheers from the Baltic! Jens

@@MACkiteboarding after reading your comments it seems you defend this product no matter the argument people provide. I don't mind chinese products when they are branded chinese. Yes my device is, but again it's not a big ass western company that sells goods made there at 10 times or more the cost. Most of the wingfoil gear is in this case, but I ride a french board/foil. Being a heavier rider at 100 kgs + seem promising after IMO v3 8m low end was like 6.5m disappointing say the least,have you tried the V4 8m yet? And any tendency for backwinding issues at higher end of range,as my biggest complaint with north loft pro 8m which I bought to replace my V3 CWC 8m as never really felt BW issues with my V1-V2-V3 CWC.thanks for the review like to hear about the 8m as well🙏
@MACkiteboarding3 күн бұрын
The V4 isn't quite as grunty as the Loft Pro but with the sleeker foil section it does have a nicer top end range and less tendency to backwind. If you are getting backwinded on your Loft Pro you might try moving your front hand position forward a couple of inches. I haven't had a chance to ride the 8m or 9m quite yet.

👌🏼 So v2 vs v3 vs v4? V4 grunt like v3?
@MACkiteboarding4 күн бұрын

Bought this one in size 6m and 4m with great discount. This wing is phenomenal. Weight stiffness and materials … this is full allula wing. Canopy and strut made from same material. You need to see it in real life and touch. This is not ripstop this is next level materials. A bit more front hand pressure. Distribution is not even. But you can find perfect sweet spot. With 43cm handles you can ride one handed. Wing is flagging like a feather. Great quality, amazing materials. With discount this is the best all around wing for couple of years for sure. About trailing ashes. Canopy has no stretch at all. They add flex in wing tips so canopy tension is made when canopy is loaded.

try the markermeer or ijselmeer in the netherlands. if you have smooth waves or flat water a long board is probably a more chill experience. at my home spot where you're in the next wave before you left the first one a shorter board makes it easier to manoeuvre over those waves, this coming from a guy around 110 kg ridding a 142.

Bought the 6m nova pro. But where should the boom be placed? I put it all the way forward. Maybe that was wrong. 🤔
@MACkiteboarding5 күн бұрын
I put it in full forward position as well. The indicators on the strut show you the typical hand position so as long as you are within that, it's personal preference. All the way forward does make it easier to transition to the leading edge and lightens the back part of the wing for luffing performance. -Tucker

Excellent points! at 82kg, I had a 60ltr V2 'Slice (4'9" X 22.5"). It didn't last long, it was like trying to sit on an floating quarter-barrel that sat on the surface, very unstable and tippy yet it certainly didn't submerge enough. So I traded it for a 83lt V2 (5'X 24.5"). Once on feet, it releases fast, is great on foil, footswitches and carving are so much more easy and precise, but it's a still handful in washing machine 2' chop. While stink bugging, the static balance spot is so small that a third of the time I stuff the nose, or slide off the back as it wheelies, especially in under/overpowered winds. Yes length will help.... a lot. ( it does make for an excellent FoilDrive platform thus far).
@MACkiteboarding7 күн бұрын
V3 is a big improvement with the longer, narrower shape.
@michaelgalaxy10 күн бұрын
I'm a beginner and the boom is SUPER important for me. When I switched to a boom-based wing, I got much better, instantly. It was highly intuitive. The reason why it helps, specifically, is when you need to DE-power the wing (lift it up) really really fast in highly gusty situations where the wind can knock you over. The boom allows you that split-second control during the learning experience to stay on foil without falling over. It helped tremendously.
@billsuper732410 күн бұрын
Totally agree when there is too much concave on the deck it makes the board really unstable. I experienced that with a new board I had to replace... by the V3 ;)
