I started playing DCS last week and was having this really nasty stuttering every 4 or 5 secs, to the point it was simply unplayable. I know I have a mid-tier PC, but anyways I searched all over the web for fixes and realized it's a pretty common issue even on very high-end machines. Tried all suggestions and fixes and nothing worked until I just bought an NVMe SSD disk and installed the game there. I was running the game from an HDD. No more stutters, even with all graphics cranked to the max I get solid 50/60 fps with zero stutters. The game now runs perfect. It's mindblowing how easy it was to fix the problem (not cheap though lol). My specs are: - Ryzen 5 2600X - GTX 1660 Ti (6GB) - 32Gb DDR4 Ram - NVMe SSD WD_Black SN770 1TB

Great vid! I just started flying the "Dorito" and love it. Is that a mod your using to show time and fuel? Keep up the good work!

I have an Permanent and faster solution in general, Hold Windows logo + R > type "msconfig" and hit "enter" >> click "Boot" >> Open "Advanced Options" >> Tick "Number of Processors" >> Choose the highest number which means "all cores" >> Click "ok" >> Apply >> choose "Restart the Computer now" done. Basically thing we're doing in here is the same thing at the video "3:05". Instead of doing one by one for every other task, we're just setting this option as a default.

Hey mate, thanks for the video it's always fascinating to learn about all the little indications and functions on the instruments (if you're a certain kind of nerd). Beautiful flying too, and I could hear your audio fine, BTW. Just one thing - I think you're using the wrong end of the course needle to set your RSBN radial - that's why your course correction lines are backwards - if you are to the right of your intended course (need to turn left to get back on course) the lines on the ADI and NPP are to the right instead of the left. I did the same thing for ages and it bugged me why the RSBN course line was backwards whereas the PRMG course lines were "normal". So I actually read the manual (last resort) - on page 54 it tells you which end of the needles is the head or tail.

my problem is that it will be just fine, then at the worst possible time, screen completely freezes... this sounds like what it is... I hop it fixes. I just messed up a multi wing, multi airframe formation photo op with my group.

Oh boy... It has been already a 7 years. And I have not flown this plane properly for 3-4 years! Just came here to check the basics for navigation and was shocked that this is still the best one there is. While my flying is these days mainly for just sight seeing or training the specific maneuvers, the L-39 has really made it fun experience. Even when I first almost promised myself that I never buy any trainer in DCS. There is so much fun to fly the plan, and do it right. No fooling around, no HUD telling you where to point your nose etc. Yak-52 is similar but even simpler. And I so wish that someone would do the Cessna 172 to the DCS, so we can finally get proper aircraft to show flight dynamics quality among industry simulators!

Thanks for your comment! Can‘t believe it has been 7 years since making this video! Sometimes the most hands-on aircraft are the most fun to fly! No fancy avionics, computers or other shenanigans…

Do you know how i ca map my ALT C function to my middle mouse in gazelle.... I use it to switch quickly between mouselook and clicking because i cant use track IR
@RoamingAdhocrat Жыл бұрын
You can also leave the Course Angle (Map Angle) at 0°, so your Lateral Deviation (Drift Angle) is your east-west movement and your Distance (Flight Path) is your north-south movement. Real aircraft Doppler nav systems sometimes had this as a specific feature. Works better in flat-earth DCS than IRL though. Set your Course Angle to "magnetic heading for north direction in your MGRS grid" and preset your deviation and distance to your starting MGRS position… and your Doppler system will track your position in MGRS coordinates :)
