I’m still hitting my Nike clubs from 2008 when I bought them new. My entire bag from driver to putter and bag is Nike. There’s not many people longer than me when I’m at the range, and my irons work fine. Also, I’m not bragging, I’m stating a fact. I want to buy new clubs, I just can’t justify spending $2k, when the clubs I’m playing work just fine.

Loved my SQ machspeed irons when I started playing. The covert driver was the shortest club I ever hit!

$10-20 for a polo LOL more like $1-2, no manufacturer pays more that 12-15$ for a completed and shipped pair of sneakers or golf shoes. Think about that when you are spending $400 on Air Jordans, they cost no more than $15 to make in a Bangladeshi sweat shop.

I have a set of Nike ignite irons I bought real cheap off eBay some years back and while I can play them I dont particularly care for the feel of them I’m definitely in the novice category so my hits are quite inconsistent and the sweet spot on the ignites is just too small for me to be effective with however when everything comes together and you do make contact with the sweet spot on them man the ball absolutely rockets my fil really likes them so I’m gonna give them to him and grab a new set that’s more beginner friendly

I think the problem is the over saturation of content. No one watches TV anymore because you can watch it later on You Tube. And it’s easier to watch summaries on KZbin or commentary by a KZbinr than watching a whole game.

I've been gaming the SQ Driver and VR cavaity backs for 15 years. Just broke 75 with them for the first time this month! The CCI Forged are also money.

He is 35 years old he has 4 majors a Players 3 Fed Ex cups, 26 pga tour wins not to mention a bunch of world wide wins. The sun has not set on his career yet in 10-15 years from today we shall see. He isn't Tiger Woods because no one is or will likely ever be. He is a great player who will be in the hall of fame guaranteed. The only issue left to be decided is will he end being an all time great... for that he needs to win 1 or 2 more majors or the masters. I think he will.

Had the Nike blade putter, they actually put a great shaft on that one. But yeah, should have stuck with shoes and apparel. The balls sucked too.

A true champion will pick up the pieces and start over. You take your experiences and move on. I think he needs to isolate himself more. Jack had the ability to crawl up inside himself and just focus on his game. My observation is that a lot of the new breed are exposed to so much more media and they need to find a way to not pay any attention to that. Difficult yes, but necessary.

The younger generation of golfers love to try new loud products as long as they have decent performance, and Nike could capitalize on that. They could just aquire companies and build off of them to get a head start. Imagine if they just bought Takomo (or similar company) for their clubs, and VICE for their ball line up. That would get them in the door for the first 5-10 years, and even if people knew it was just Nike branded Takomo and VICE marked up people would still buy it if marketed correctly. Then they could build from there. Nike already has the in store presence, and that would get the direct to consumer products in store, and fitting bays. Then, they could aggresively market to the high school and college players. Get new products in the kids hands. If they grow up with it, it will take hold slowly all over.

The golf brand was getting too big and was going to potentially seriously impinge and hurt their other staple athletic markets. Largely due to you know who…Tiger Woods. At one point in 2014/15 golfers at cluns were saying Nike will completley takeover and comsume the whole golf market industry

As someone who is just starting golf this was a great insight into Nikes clubs, especially after being in the second hand market for my first set of clubs I was always told to stay clear of Nikes golf clubs, can definitely see why they're no longer making clubs now. Great video man!

Seem like Nike golf was targeting a young audience and was not an overall set for all ages. When Tiger signed-on it seemed as if though his game tapered off. Probably the reason why he jumped ship and went over to Taylor Made. I think if Tiger would have stayed with his old set or if that other company offered the entire kitchen sink to Tiger, they would have locked him in. I never wanted to choose the club based on brand that focuses too much on too many sports, but rather on a traditional company and brand that focuses on one thing- just golf. I do have to admit though I did buy myself a dark blue Tiger woods polo and hat, but that's all I ever bought. Not equipment but apparels which has always been Nike's golden cash cow. This guy says it all and everyone knows that. My original golf club from Big 5 or even a more better quality golf club set from Costco fare way better than whatever Nike offered back then.

I was in hockey around the time Nike broke into that sport, buying Bauer and getting Sergei Federov onboard with those white skates. Their stuff wasn't altogether revolutionary as it was overpriced. Nike wasn't the only one doing it, but all the hockey equipment which used to say "Made in Canada", "Made in USA", "Made in Sweden", etc.; went to having an easily visible tag which would say, "Designed in Canada", "Designed in USA", etc.; and then getting to the tag in a less-visible location, "Made in China", "Made in Mexico". Nike just wants to make money. While there's nothing wrong with that, they have no real connection to the sport they are horning their way into. They sign a big name player or two onto the brand, move production to a "cheap" country, and market. And, yeah, they generally try to make things "flashy" and "innovative", like the white skates. Like they are the standout brand just because of that.

Easily the most forgiving set of clubs I've ever hit. I eventually replaced them with PINGs but only because my game progressed and wanted more shot shaping ability. But at one point, my PINGs were stolen and I was forced to use my Slingshots for a few rounds while waiting for replacements and I fell in love with the Slingshots again lol
