Agh, they change the 2625 kit again. They change the lower spring bracket. The slot is even shorter that needs to potentially share the airbag bolt and the lower support bracket if you needed it.

That is a big help for my install today! I think I got the new kit with rubber pucks but the instructions have an update stapled to the outside of the install guide that still wasn’t clear. Especially since they had a diagram of a jounce support and a lower support bracket in the original install guide.

Sounds good for a track car. Don’t know how it would do with HUD or PDR.
@Poweredby8Racing2 ай бұрын
Yup, don’t have to worry about those systems. If you go with a lexan windshield, you would probably be in a position to dump those systems as well. This would be a very last step for anyone building a car. My windshield was already chipped, and cracked, so it was a good time to yank it.

The car never experienced any issues after this modification. But thank you for your concern. Heat in flat floor cars with rear exit exhausts is always an internal cabin issue. In this case it did not hurt it. In other cars, such as our corvettes, it’s something that has to be addressed.

I'd love to see a video on how you did your removable bumper and splitter assembly. Right now only my splitter is removable, but yours looks a lot simpler to install/remove.
@Poweredby8Racing5 ай бұрын
I used some through bolts to attach the splitter to the lip of the bumper. This is an aftermarket number so the lip is what really helped make this an easier solution. But the lip is also the reason I needed to do this, because the lip didn’t lay flat I had to force it with fastener. Zebulon would rather I not do it this way in case of an excursion, I may lose the bumper and the splitter vs just the splitter. Just food for thought.

I have both brackets. I like the original longer bracket and I welded stops on it so it can't come off the bracket. Just 1/4" tabs on each side of the puck keeps it from sliding. I then drilled 2 holes and put a u bolt on under the jounce bumper so that the bracket doesn't want to lift upwards near the leaf stack. The center of my bolt into the airbag is right at the edge of jounce bumper so it's aligned. I went through everything you did with tech support and what they tell you to do still isn't a great design. There shouldn't even be a slot it should just have a single hole so it can't move. Also the spacer puck is a must not sure why they didn't think of that from the beginning

I ordered the ball press kit from the link supplied by @Poweredby8Racing from Amazon on a Monday and by Friday it still hadn’t shipped yet. I tried my luck with the rental tool from my local O’Reillys auto parts and it ended up working out great. I didn’t need the additional spacer that @Poweredby8Racing uses on the lower control arms in this video. It pressed out all the way with the basic kit. If you are doing this job and have a O’Reillys nearby, rent their press kit part #67045.

I did the lowers while they were on the car and attached to the suspension. That was easier than having them off as it was like I had an extra set of hands holding them steady. Note the car was on a lift, wouldn’t work as well on the ground or on jacks.

Awesome thanks for the updates I’m sure other will use them!
@VCRacing208 ай бұрын
The tolerances must have been different on my lower arms than in this video. Mine were very tight. The old ball joints came out easily with an impact gun but getting them in was impossible. I ended up doing them by hand with a breaker bar and they slid right in. I couldn’t get them to go in straight with the impact gun. I wasted a lot of time trying. I’d recommend just doing it by hand.
