why l think Euka is so much better than public schools going by what has happened with my young son is that in public school the children are not pushed to get their work done and right, it is just move on if they do not understand their work but with Euka if my son gets something wrong, he can revise and research and get it right, l have seen so much improvement as well as independence and maturity in my son since starting Euka

I have a gender diverse child who we discovered has intersex traits so both male and female characteristics from birth. Then I found out I had the same and that deformities that made it unlikely I could ever have a child (but miraculously I did), were intersex characteristics too. I also discovered that my late father had some form of gender diversity. No curriculum is turning our children gay or transgender. Nobody is pushing anything at all. If anything it is the opposite. I had to take my child out of school due to bullying and lack of support. Though some teachers were supportive, others were flat out the opposite because there is so much misinformation out there now. I was raised religious and conservative, and it took me a while to get my head around having a child who was born with their wiring not matching their body. Then when we discovered they has intersex characteristics everything made sense. But how do we know whether newer generations are being born with genetic prepositions to gender diversity or not? We don’t?! So it was never their choice, they were born with both male and female characteristics, but assumed one gender, but they knew who they were very early on. I use “they” for privacy reasons. Now that I’ve had a child go through the health care system and puberty blockers I can say for certain that nothing is being pushed. If you reading this are not transgender, then may I ask, do you think your teachers or parents could have convinced you to completely change who you are? Your entire gender identity? From a boy to a girl? You know the answer. Of course not. Yes there is a rise in gender dysphoria. It could be for many reasons but at the end of the day, absolutely not one single doctor in this country will put a child on gender affirming hormones. They have to be on puberty blockers first. It’s not ideal but neither is anti depressant medication, neither is any medical intervention. If people weren’t so transphobic then less people would need to turn to having to medically transition 😕 I’m not good with words, but absolutely understand that trans kids need support, that no one is forcing anyone. This is coming from someone with a religious and conservative background, who doesn’t believe in many vaccines (I don’t dare say which ones), especially not for kids, who thinks autism and adhd is being over diagnosed, and more of a concern about the brainwashing in schools in so many ways, yet LGBTIQ is not an issue. The government wants us fighting over this. Over trans kids. They want to spread propaganda to try to cause us to fight. The more we argue, the more they have control. Peace

Habit stacking was actually developed by behavioral scientist B.J. Fogg. James clear mentions it in his book Atomic Habits but Fogg's book Tiny Habits actually explains the origins of the concept.

I agree re slowing the process to help with letter recognition (& esp cursive) When I show my grandchild cursive handwriting of historical documents, records etc, presently (noting she is now in grade 3) she has no hope of reading it! So in my view, we ought to continue teaching kids this skill for all of the obvious reasons, but also in future to be able to read very old documents. Handwriting can also tell us more information about the author who wrote a document, hence the skill should not be lost.

Thank you for this message. I am sorry I haven’t caught up with your Pod Casts - school and work have had me really struggling, and then there is the home (husband). Even after 40 years, we still have our conflict. I have had real difficulty with my Euka student, Cruz - not wanting to sit down and learn. Which part of the curriculum deals with communication the most - I seem to have this “conflict resolution’ with every subject, except mainly Science and P.E. Today I was blessed to have some “teacher aids/parent helping” - the first time in my 10 years of teaching in this Circus Environment. It has made communicating with my parents so much easier, as they actually see their “child in action”. I will send this to my son and daughter in law too, as I believe this is important for all families to hear. Thank you again!!

Thank you for this Pod Cast (You Tube). I am having a hard day with my student - he just doesn’t want to work and his behaviour is “off the planet” again. He didn’t come to school yesterday - with “stomach problems” , and today he is running back to his caravan every 5 minutes, as he doesn’t want to do his work. He lasts only an hour and a half - till he wants Morning Tea. Then when he comes I just can’t get him back on task. By the end of the morning he is in tears and just wants to run home. I am in tears too! I have taught Cruz (in the Circus) for 5 years now, and nothing has changed. I get no support from his parents (the Circus owners), as Education is q low priority. I diagnosed Dyslexia, but I think it is more than that. Anyway. I spent yesterday preparing, his Euka work - tomorrow I hope he will enjoy his the Maths. Science and P.E (his favourite subjects). I bought a soccer ball yesterday! But Thursday is usually our worst day. Sorry, I am raving! Again, your Podcasts help me and I share then with Cruz’s parents. And my own son and daughter in law.

Thank you again! This is what we need the knowledge of options here. We are told we need to send kids to school. Really this is programming our children for a 9 to 5 type thinking. We need to work in a job we hate to have a roof over our heads and food on the table and pay bills. My son really worked himself up so much going to school! We were always late going to school because of this. As concerned parents, we want to fix it. But our son kept telling us no bullying was happening or anything else. Cree was not up to his grade level at school and each year he kept falling further behind... We started last year with distance ed. But it was really expensive and was religiously based... Not for us... As mentioned the workload seemed more than when he went to school! We often struggled with the demand. The work was tailored to his needs but there were expectations to do normal grade work as well. So Cree really struggled. In the online classes, he could not respond to questions because of his late reply to other students... So he disengaged there... When your child makes themselves psychically sick is not what you want to see. It is not good for your child at all... We have only just found you and enrolled, but from what I have seen, I wish I did this earlier! Thank you again...

Haven’t had feed back from them yet, but we have been busy with School Holiday shows. I have a lot I would love to share about my own home schooling experiences - excursions etc. Still, we have a show this afternoon and tonight - so busy, busy. Have a great week!

Hi guys! Just a short comment. After 10 years of teaching with the Circus - Distant Education, not always happy as they didn't always turn up for school. I reccomended EUKA to my parents students and they have been really happy - especially with the flexibility and money. I am happy with the Curriculum. I have done Home Schooling with before, but it is great having a program. Had a little problem with QLD Education, sending in their work at the end of the year, but I hope this has sorted itself out. Looking forwarrd to 2024.

Thanks again, especially with the communication and rules. Having spent a few weeks with our children and grandchildren, we came away feeling that these things were lacking. But in speaking with my daughter in law, Emily, she really wanted to do this with her husband - our son. They were both suffering from “mental illnesses”, and were their 9 yearly old who refused to communicate - hiding herself away in her room - diagnosed also with Chilhood Anxiety/Eating disorders - this has been difficult for them. The 8 and 4 year seemed to communicate better, with Mum and Dad and each other. I thank you for encouragement, and hope to share it with my family.

My daughter in law was homeschooled. When I first met her she was so shy. Now, as a mother, she is such as amazing woman and Mum. She had one year of On Line Uni. And now she has been asked to on the Playgroup for the community. She has come out of herself - and is amazing. She has also been asked to take a position in her Church as a children’s worker. We watched our granddaughter’s Ballet concert, and they were really relating to friends. My daughter in law showed me her old Home Schooling Work - and it made me see how home schooling has changed. My granddaughters have a great education. They love cooking Mum etc. I believe I will share this with both my son and daughter in law so they too can both be empowered.

And being present and involved with our children may involve listening and watching silently because they may not always be able to verbalise or voice what they need. Noticing how they are in all ways has been valuable in our family.

It's true, as you say, the energetic 'wrapping up' or atmosphere of communication - listening with our whole body, and communicating with our whole body - is very self-aware, conscious parenting and kinder to our children. Thank you, Brett and Ellen for broaching this topic of conversation. What a lovely and powerful phrase, Ellen - 'Real learning happens in an atmosphere of love and acceptance'. Thank you for this reminder. We try now to keep life in context, and pay attention to the nature of the individuals in our family of five. We are an actively connected family, and we are a team of individually strong people who flourish at a natural pace rather than an idea of one-size-fits-all, and each is no greater or less than another. To do what is kind, loving, and be consciously aware that we are each creating and choosing our own life experience is a clear foundation that informs our daily rhythms, individually and together. We have a 25, 23, and 14-year-old. Daily effort is to nourish self-trust, inspired self-responsibility of your own life-path, and active gratitude for the family we constitute. Our two older children went through the public school system. Our youngest has chosen home-schooling.
