0:55 it’s still annoying how crossing sequences (instead of horn happy engineers) always do short short short short horn sequences to me
@MillerRailfan11 күн бұрын
Yeah I agree, the LIRR does a very condensed horn sequence. It has always been this way, as disappointing it is, it's due to the houses being so close to the railroad tracks. They don't like the loud noise
@HarrisonPeloso18 күн бұрын
my first thought is this going to Agway then saw where the crossing was thinking, thats not west of danbury at all but more on the US route 7 side
@MillerRailfan17 күн бұрын
Yes, it is on the less rare side of things. I believe they haven't done an Agway move since October of 2023

I’m sure that I saw those in Milford on 2020 😢 but im alittle confused 🤔
@electrictractiontrainsandt306320 күн бұрын
Great catch guys! 👍 Hopefully, the entire line can see trains all the way to Beacon again in the future! 🤔
@HarrisonPeloso18 күн бұрын
US route 9s crossing in fishkill the tracks have been pulled so if anything is going that way tracks have to be relayed and all crossings must be fixed. furthest these can go is Agway on the CT-NY state line along I84

That's the dream, it would take a lot of support though, not to mention $$$

Great video. Quick note, the 0902 isn’t a former NH locomotive. It’s a former US Air Force 80 tonner and the railroad painted it in the paint scheme the NH used on their 44 tonners, NH never owned 80 tonners
@MillerRailfan22 күн бұрын
Man, I just figured it was a 44 tonner! Thanks for the info and your support to the channel!

Cool video. I went there back when I was 9 in 1994. I haven't been back since- not because I didn't want to come back, but because I don't own a car. I may go back next summer.

Master Miller Railfan - LOVE this video clip where EYE was raised and bred into Wilton Culture - had ONLY the best to mentor me like Rosa Rio of Radio City Music Hall & Wilton Playhouse where I played my German accordion with her - then play it too for David M. Keiser Holidays ON HIS ESTATE 105 Seeley Road, Cannondale. Those were the days!

It is a little odd I agree with you on that
@railfannerjs63082 ай бұрын
1:37 how can you get this close without the engineer not saying anything?
@MillerRailfan2 ай бұрын
It depends on a few things. 1: The speed the train is going. I knew this curve has a low speed restriction, so therefore the engineer could easily stop the train if he as to and could see me there for a longer period of time. 2: The rail line. This freight line is not as concerned about these kinds of things as let's say Metro-North or Amtrak. 3: The location. At this specific spot, I am actually standing on the end of a paved parking lot that gets very close to the tracks, so I'm not at all trespassing. 4: Credibility. We already filmed this same train earlier down the line, so theoretically, the engineer will see me and know that I'm just filming, just as I did previously from further away.
@railfannerjs63082 ай бұрын
@@MillerRailfan I was going to say, literally it must depend on if you are near a zone public without fences, or if they recognize you and your intentions. I'm always afraid to do stuff like that with Pan Am Railways PL-1 or the Waterbury Shuttle (if maxi-bombs pull behind the clock tower), because I have a fear of words being said about it, yet it's a walking area without fence.

Probably one of the older steam locomotive residents on the valley Railroad it’s nice to see old number 97 in operation and now the 97 has worked alongside Chinese SY class 2-8-2 locomotives back in the early 90s it was the 1647 now Susquehanna 142 today number 97 operates alongside her relative engine former Knox and Kane Railroad 1658 now reborn as New Haven 3025 spot on job on this video I like seeing the crossing signals included as well
@MillerRailfan3 ай бұрын
Yes I would so much rather 97 than the Chinese locomotive. Thanks for your support and kind words!
