Actually, the charge abuse is not that bad here. You can charge while you do other attacks, or while you're in the air.

Excellent examples! Many of us, in the arcades, used to be so frustrated by these obvious 'double standards' in video games 🎮! 😠 Please do one for Twisted Metal 2 and show them how the AI can do special moves repeatedly without having to wait in between or how Shadow could do HIS special multiple times in a row without ever detonating any of them except for the last one. Human players MUST detonate each before sending out another one.

I don't know much about coding or games, but this seems like it makes sense, right? The CPU isn't actually inputting moves from a controller, so it doesn't need to charge like normal.

It's funny because, in the realm of young social circles, Guile always seemed like the biggest threat. In the same circle, you'd get reputed sore losers saying 'the computer cheats' and laugh it off. But in this case, the computer really was cheating.

the best thing with guile and most characters is when the countdown for the round starts and when u get hit and fall back is u can do the combos for the character for example like with guiles Sonic boom before the round starts u can do ur combo like hold back then forward anypunch button. Yea just do that then when the game lets u hit then do the rest of the combo Me:holds back for guile to charge of sonic boom before rounds starts Game: Round 1 fight! Me: goes forward and punch to finish combo

Old video, but the concept was the computer could charge for specials any time. Walking forward, jumping, during another special, etc. Players could do it as well, it was just really difficult, while the computer didn't have the physical limitations of players.
@batlin3 жыл бұрын
Human-controlled players can do some of these things in very limited circumstances due to glitches (for example, Guile's "stored" flash kick, and the free sonic boom you can get if you keep holding forward during a medium throw and hit punch when you start walking). However, many of these examples can _not_ be done by players, regardless of physical limitations. You can see this by watching any good TAS of SF2 -- the player can do some amazing things, but there are some fundamental restrictions you can't get around, but which the CPU-controlled player can (e.g. attack recovery time is different or non-existent, allowing impossibly fast jabs and sweeps by characters like Zangief and Ryu).
@jeffchisamore15563 жыл бұрын
@@batlin Good call. Many game magazines during the day went over this in detail, especially when they ported it to the SNES. The idea (I got from it) was computer controlled characters didn't have any input lag from the polling of the controller, and was able to pull off way more than any physical player could, with timing that was almost impossible to counter/duplicate. If I remember correctly, you're absolutely right about the recovery time diminishing as the level of difficulty increases - we just accepted that as "challenge". I'm honestly surprised to see a video detailing this some twenty plus years later. It's been like this for a long, long time. By the way, great timeout at the end. Pretty damn sneaky, lol

Who's complaining? This is about understanding how the game works and what restrictions apply or don't apply to the CPU player. Nothing to do with the game being "hard".

Nah. It's possible for humans to buffer a flashkick in some versions of arcade WW, and a sonic boom can be thrown for free after a medium throw, but I don't think either of those glitches exists in the SNES version. The CPU player just doesn't have the same restrictions as the human player -- consider how they can do a sort of turbo jab that's not possible even with frame-by-frame TAS input.
