I read the women and while I always learn so much when reading her books, they are always so sad and gloomy.

Haha, so true! You definitely have to be in the right kind of mood for Hannah's writing. This is certainly one of the most emotional books I've ever read, but I love that she is bringing attention to the female heroes that may not have gotten the recognition they deserved when they arrived back home.
