For the skirt you could look into steeking. I never did it myself, but it’s basically for exactly a purpose like that. If you are down for unraveling it and knit it again, that would be a cleaner option tho depending on if there are decreases worked to open the slit too.

Seeing how many yarn mixes you do, I think you'd like colourmart! They sell yarn on cones, usually mill ends or leftovers from high fashion houses and it's usually pretty affordable. Their website is quite clunky but the ravelry group can be really helpful. They mostly sell cashmere, but they are have some really nice merino and lambswool as well.

Hi! I love this. I was wondering what needle size you used? It looks like the pattern gauge is 15sts on 6.5mm and Noro Madara is 20sts on 4.5-5mm so curious how you got gauge.

What a stunning shawl. You did a beautiful job knitting it, even with the obstacles. I think the colors are absolutely perfect. It’s hard to know what colors to use but end result of your choice is perfect. Well done.

I really loved that cabled sweater and the mkal shawl you knitted! If you hadn't brought up that you're only in your 2nd yr of knitting, I would've thought you were a lot more experienced!

If it makes you feel better, I began knitting and crocheting in 2009/10ish when I was 8/9 yrs old. I would often start projects then not finish them and still do that. When in college I didn't finish a lot of my projects but I'm currently knitting a vest for my dad I began a yr and a half ago. My goal is to finish it by the end of Jan/Feb. An older lady from my church told me she began knitting an Irish sweater 30+ yrs ago and asked me if I'd be able to finish it for her but I told her I haven't tried that kind of project before but might take it once I finish my dad's vest.

I’m a new knitter and also knit a very tight gauge and have learned so much from you - like that a larger needle assists me so much with meeting gauge for a pattern. Thank you! 🙏
