As bad as a MG game Survive was, it was still pretty fun to play the story and to just hang out with friends, it doesn't have to be seen as a MG game to be fun as a chill survival shooter

Bruh, Konami owns all of it. Kojima and other staff worked for them and the company has every right to use what they made, since it was made in Konami's name. That's not to say this game didn't suck regardless.

Kojima for some reason wanted to make a zombie-centric game, he mentions it in a MGS Rising interview I believe, so I've gotten the feeling that he actually was behind this stupid idea of a game, he just parted ways before this came to light and konami for some reason decided to follow through. Kojima is a genius, but he will always needs a team to trim down the stupid stuff out of his ridiculous ideas sometimes.

The thing about greed is, it is never satisfied being successful is not enough, until it goes too far and leads companys ruined.

ngl i played mgs survive and if you treat it more as a fun spinoff than a full mgs game its a really solid survival game thats still fun

I recently got the game and it’s dlc and it’s refreshing seeing someone say it’s actually decent and not literally made by the devil. The game looks fun as hell and I hated the timer restraint. It does suck the human bosses aren’t that fleshed out but man am I just happy to have a chill zombie killing game with fun weapons I can just relax with. I’ve actually played 3 and liked it enough but the stuff 4 does for the “casual” audience is so refreshing. The expanded inventory, the easier crafting. Hell the be the zombie dlc is fun enough.

It's superfun! I played it through 6 times in the last two weeks. It has its flaws and I prefered part 3 but it's still a great game.

with the timer it's hard to say I think there should always be 2 modes but for the story too not just overtime mode so I am glad I finally got an endless story experience with DR4 while I think there should also be a classic timer mode in the game both can be fun, I agree there are some details missing that should be in the game, and the maniacs are disappointing compared to psychopaths, but people make it sound like this game is worthless when it is a fun time around the holidays especially of course. I can understand people not being able to forgive how they changed Frank, but I have to say story and characters was never very important to me in these games at all, so I just skip cutscenes and have fun. Some locations are very nice, I love the Carribean Cove also there is a gun that shoots live fish at people.

Dead rising 4 is my go to game for christmas every year for 5 years now

I wish the kept the same inventory and just stuck to the og style but modern fps and graphics and bigger map etc etc. I still love ALL Dead Rising games! But wish 4 was better (still loved it). Also is there a way to do 3 and 4 at 60fps+? I don’t have them on PC.

The honest truth is that this game was absolutely over-hated. While everyone is entitled to their opinions, some people are hyper focused on the faults. I’ve played games that were far more plagued with issues than this game and still received the praise. The timer in the original dead rising, in my opinion, held the game back from being better . I couldn’t really build depth or love for the game because there was just no time to take it in and enjoy much of anything due to being under their time constraints. Dead rising 4 is a breath of fresh air because it removes that, allowing this game to feel more of a sandbox. There’s more to say but, chill out people, stop taking yourselves and this game to seriously and just enjoy it or move on.

Personally, not the worst in the series IMO. Dead Rising 3 takes that title as far as I’m concerned. But I’m of the belief the only good ones were the first two games.

Kojima productions was under contract that’s not stealing. Not only did Konami fund all development and production and own the ip paying millions for the development, staff, marketing etc. they directly paid Kojima millions. Boohoo a nobody at the time signs a contract here lucky and makes millions and is able to move on and make millions elsewhere. If I’m paying you millions on a contract that says all work related to x product or intellectual property is mine and we decide to part ways and I then use what I paid hundreds of millions for how the f is that stealing? I went to the grocery store and paid them how much they asked for bread. I stole bread. Like wtf.

As a counter argument - re used assets. Fallout New Vegas was made in 18 months because they used fallout 3 as a base. Of course made new map, new mechanics, new everything but konami still had the rights for the assets. If it was that good, why bother reinventing the wheel.

It doesn’t matter if the game isn’t as garbage as everyone says it is, although just look at it, it is. it is still an entry that degrades the identity of what was at that point a beloved series. Dead Rising four is nothing like the other games except for the fact that you kill zombies in a mall. I will never understand the fascination with removing the unique parts of video games until it’s just another generic action game, why are you even here? There’s plenty of other open world zombie games you can play.

I really like your take on it, and respect it. I don't necessarily agree on the idea on appealing to a more casual audience because it splits the fan base. There will be plenty of the fans who'll enjoy the new take, and plenty who wont. Its a risky gamble, because if the new audience doesnt replace the ones they lost you kill the franchise. Its happened to a lot of franchises before. I myself didnt hate Dead Rising 4 but i just didnt enjoy myself because it felt like it was sensory overload. But again i really appreciate your take on this review instead of blindly supporting or trashing the game, keep it up!

I wish that Dead Rising 4 was a prequel instead of a sequel.

Loved this game but now it crashes everytime I click “new game” not a second of gameplay can be played. A fix for this would be good but that ain’t ever going to happen now.
