I don't want get rid of the me, I want to get rid of the 'not me' the unwanted responses about me that I hate, the me is me somewhere in this human condition, that's a good thing, the me that isn't me is the screw up, that's what I want to get rid of!

Yes, what you speak of is therapy. What I explore is the deeper nature of Identity, Awareness, or Consciousness itself. Therapy is good.

An unawakened person here..... From what you said near the end of the video you make it sound as if awakening is not such a big deal. If it isn't then why are we putting ourselves through all this for something that in the end is relatively inconsequential ? Why should we bother to awaken ? What are the big benefits of it ? 😕🤔🤨

I understand what you are saying. What I mean by simple is that, it really boils down to awareness following awareness back to the point of complete non attachment to the body. Alternatively you can use the mind to understand and from that perspective it can sound really difficult. What I emphasise is that its more simple and direct if you as awareness, follow awareness back. I’m sorry for your frustration with all the different messages that can occure from listening to many teachers, maybe it would be better if you choose just one good teacher.

At the beginning, when I started this knowledge about awareness, I was very happy, very excited; read a lot, saw a lot of videos on youtube, IG, etc. After almost 3 years, these last few weeks I am getting angrier and angrier mixed with an imense feeling of being lost, of hopelesness. Really don't know who I am anymore or what to do.

The beginning is exciting but after a while life becomes more real, that's all. Now that you are more real in your human condition, learn to integrate all experiences as Awareness. Of course, the tendency is to go back into the mental and emotional possession of the body but that's okay, see it, and learn to lean in and out as awareness, understanding that awareness is the root source of experience, and not the me, or I.

Thank you so much Steve. This has been happening naturally and I didn't expect it to feel so vulnerable and was very feeling conflicted, wondering if I'd missed a step. (I think I was hoping to deepen awareness without having to feel vulnerable!) To hear you describe this so clearly and confirm how counter-intuitive it feels is a huge relief. It's taking some practice to have good discernment of the truth without referring to egoic boundaries. Did you find there's a need for a bit of deliberate back and forth between identification and disidentification until that discernment integrates? I got into a slightly unhealthy relationship feeling very open and vulnerable until I recognized the intuitive signals to leave.

In the same way, we’re capable of comprehending the world around us but not the consciousness which animates us. What you said doesn't make sense, Chris. If there's "only waking up" then a person must have been asleep in the first place in order TO wake up. So logically it follows that there must be people who NEED waking up.
