Battled 40 minutes in each game in Arizona! 28 minutes for JJ who plays 5 to 10 minutes and had been in a shooting slump for a month! He pulled down rebounds, played point to help a tired Darius, was a rim protector inside, drove the basket, sank 3s, length of the court drive ending in a dunk, and that Euro step across the lane was outrageous! Coleman cleaned the boards, made both his 3s, wow! Juice lacked juice once again, real liability in conference play.

Good game, good fight. Given how wildly inconsistent this team is, tonight's performance seals that Keyshawn Hall will score 10 points on 3-18 shooting vs. Houston and the team won't break 50 points. It's a tough next four games -- Houston, at Iowa State, TCU, at Kansas.

@@truaqua Not negative, that's what they do: great shooting game followed up by an egg the next game. Tech -- good, Kansas -- bad. Colorado -- good, Arizona -- bad. Arizona State good, Houston -- gonna be bad.

Homer announcers make it hard to watch what was an excellent game. They're the worst kind of homers, too: the dump on their home team players for "mistakes" that were demeaned the talent of their opponent. You can't claim Arizona is great team if you continuously trash the opponents' talent and team effort. UCF matched or exceeded all Arizona stats except for Knight shooting. UCF had it's best rebounding effort of season by far, especially dominating the offensive boards. Clearly, Colorado has better shooters and inside defense than Arizona. Arizona lacks quick guards of other Big 12 teams, too, to make steals or create turnovers, as UCF proved (among their fewest turnovers and steals given up of their entire season!). Lack of blocking ability also makes them ordinary but with good disciplined coaching. The Knights went to the portal for better shooters and more physical players. Arizona needs to do so, too. They seemed very beatable tonight, and TOO EASY TO FLUSTER into unforced turnovers when at all pressed. Other teams with the ability to press and trap all game will surely see this fatal weakness and emphasize that on defense.

Clearly doesn't know players or teams. More focused on gambling and looking cool, it seems. You try playing after a 2500 mile trip on 2 different charters, having a shootaround at midnight, and all taking a full load of classes. A heroic effort at a snake pit of 13,000 insult-screaming fans where home team seldom ever has lost. Really embarrassed Arizona players and silenced the crowd from all the unforced turnovers during the 2 big runs by UCF. Those cocky robots must have been asking themselves, "what's it gonna take to beat these energy bunnies?"
@bigsz21504 күн бұрын
@ gambling on Ucf is crazy,but with all this traveling why is a college kid playing 30+ minutes when your finding your bench for Tourney. Also, 4/25 3pt. From you main scores is unacceptable. Why not rotate for a spark of energy…

He played 18 minutes, by far the most of his career last night (9 points, outscoring 3 starters), and exceeded his prior lifetime total points. For the first time, he didn't seem lost out there, and displayed team leadership. Found the open man, made good decisions, chose and made open shots, pushed the ball down court and drew defenders for his assist, no turnovers, drew fouls and made free throws, brought controlled energy.

This team won’t make the tourney unless Dawkins start making some Harsh decision this is the first real rotation mins Mikey played and he was a +13 in a 9 point loss where he only played 17 mins. You give him the same leash and opportunity these upperclassmen guards get you would get better production it doesn’t matter how awful Ivy curry plays he still gonna play 28+ minutes he was a -20 and shot 2/11

Dawkins JUST GOT HIM BACK and he's still essentially the least experienced "freshman" in the conference. Notice how Dawkins is carefully honing him into a team player in the SUPER PHYSICAL Big 12. And it finally began to work last night! He didn't look like a deer in the headlights, showed he can LEAD the team, make good decisions, push the pace, find the open guy. He scored more than the total of all past combined and was rewarded with huge number of playing minutes when starter Ivy-Curry stunk up the floor for the 3 time in 4 conference outings. In fact, the bench had it's best game by far, too, shooting over 50% and bringing frenetic energy needed to stage runs at the end of each half, panicking Arizona's disciplined, surgical playing style.

After missing the first 10 shots, it could have been another disaster in perhaps the last chance to win for the next 4 games. Ivy-Curry did so badly the first 2 conference games, he needed to prove he could belong in the Big 12. The trapping defense really surprised Colorado because the Knights hadn't done that this season on the tapes. Colorado is still growing and will upset a number of teams. The Knights are so very good at winning close games at the end, and coming back late when down double digits. This may be the turning point in the whole season and in being able to rely on each other. Fighting for rebounds, scoring inside, and beating a well-coached, disciplined team that was really shooting well. Arizona is rated an astounding 13-1 favorite vs UCF to start the toughest 4-game stretch in program history (3 on the road, never favored or given much chance of winning). But who knows now? What a difference a game can make.

Kansas had 30 assists, dominated the inside, bullied UCF around the basket, couldn't miss in the second half, and blocked everything. And Kansas is no way a good defensive team in the Big 12 -- they can't get steals and turnovers, guards aren't quick enough, can't press. UCF is still a much worse defensive team than last year's squad because we hit the portal to get better scorers and more physical players. Just hope Jalen isn't a starter until he's really ready and also able to understand his new role!
