I wish I had thought of the monopod when I had this beast, definitely have regrets trading it in for other lenses. It is SO incredible what it can capture! Credit to your skills of finding these subjects of course :)

How would you say the weight is? I’ve been debating between this and the sigma 100-400 or tamron 50-400, this one weights about 700g more but I’m not sure if that’s enough to get tired hand holding it fast Have you ever hated the weight?

Hello! I never tried the sigma. But this tamron after few day of use It got normal to me. It’s lightweight for my backpack as well and fit in it as well with my 24-70mm. I just went to Bryce Canyon to hike over there and I never got tired or hated the weight of it! I was balancing between the Sony and tamron and I am so glad of this choice still 6 months later and it is my to go lens now !

I own this lens for a good half year and am absolutely satisfied with it! Only now I have the problem that it is definitely not possible to install the firmware update with my iMac. I guess I'll have to look for someone who owns a Windows PC.... Update: In the meantime, I updated the lens via a Windows 10 computer. It was completely uncomplicated!

I just got this lens last week. Went for this over the 200-600 because of the compact size. I would feel silly with the large 200-600, also would be hard traveling with the larger 200-600. The Tamron fits in my bag better

I been enjoying it, kind of wish I got the 200-600 for more reach and the internal zoom, but yes the tamron fits in a bag easier for travel. I might bring it to my camera shop to do a comparison in size. See actually how much of a diff with them side by side. My main thing is for travel and if I do get the 200-600 might not take it along cause if size.

@@Somemjf this is true as well! I like the fact it’s compact but it is worth to have less reach ? It’s all depend where you shoot i guess. When I was in the wetland of Florida it was easier than shoot in the desert of Arizona where I am at currently !

Nice and informative Video, thanks for that! Is the weight of the tamron really noticeable? 1.7kg is a lot of weight. I wondering if the Sigma 100-400 dg dn is more worth it for wildlife/nature cause of the less weight

At the beginning it can feels a bit heavy maybe if you don’t have any other wildlife lens .. but it is way less heavy than the other brand such as Sony. Now I don’t mind it at all. The monopod help a lot as well!

I have the 150-500 mm for my Fujifilm. I love it soooo much. All the controls make it easy to work with. Do you use a monopod often? I've been considering it to maybe help getting sharper photos in lower light.

Yes and no! It’s dépend of what I’m shooting. I do something hand held as well but I shoot a lot with my monopod or tripod when I shoot videos of them !
