This was a powerful short movie! I enjoyed it! Personally, I am a black gay man. I live in America where I don’t have to hide who I am. I would never and could never live in Nigeria. I am happy with my sexuality. I have never really been ashamed. I walk in my own truth, and it’s all right. I don’t give a fuck what others say or think. I am living my own life, and I have peace. I realized that I am not attracted to women. I love sexy assed black men. It is my choice! I will be me until the day that I die. No one can judge me, but GOD! Once again, I have some peace. Peace.

Hmmmmm.... I really got emotional while watching this 😥. As a gay 19year old guy who started fighting my sexual orientation almost immediately after discovering it, (12) i can truly attest to the fact that these conversion practices are impotent...... Ive done alot of things; vigorous fasting exercises that could last for months or weeks, vigils (both personal and those organised by the church ), attending revivals and frequent dedication of my "God" who they say hate homosexuality 😭 I can also tell you that the deterioration of your mental and emotional health is real‼️...... My relationship with people, including my family member has been terrible. It even affected my studies because i never saw the need to make my life better, though, i was always brainwashed that my decline in my academic excellence was as a result of my queerness. The way I've hated myself cannot be described with words. At a very young age of 16, i had already started having sucidal thoughts........... Omo, on my 19th birthday i took the decision that i wasnt going to hate myself any longer and I'm going to make this little queer light mine to shine the brightest 🔥🔥 Cheers to every TIERs and every Nigerian queer person out there 🥂

Thank you so much for this, gives me so much hope. Sending all the love to the Nigerian queers. Stay safe, protect yourself, lean on your community and dont be in a rush to come out. Build up your stability emotionally, physically, and financially so when you do come out you have something to fall back on no matter anyone's reaction. Love you all.

But distancing from family is not the solution. I think when you come out... you should give them time to process it. They will always come around. Tho, I am of the opinion that you don't really need to come out, especially when the primary environment is not accepting and promising.

Trust me they will not ‘always’ come around. I will always advise to distance yourself for your safety. Of course, depending on your family’s reaction.

CJ is right. I attended Trahi’s community of advocacy on SRHR for minorities and an intersex person said during their last conversation with medical practitioners, many of them didn’t know about intersex and a few they did, knew them as hermaphrodites. It’s insane. What are they teaching in medical schools?

Substance as an aphrodisiac reminded me of the first time I used poppers and omg, it was really good and sex was more enjoyable. Like, I enjoyed penetrative sex that day and wanted more. It’s important to understand when to use it and prevent excess sex especially when you are into penetrative sex, else you become addictive. Poppers has been the closest I have been with drugs especially for someone who doesn’t even smoke or take alcohol.

There is an emerging thought that addìction is due to "isolation" and not necessarily an illness/disorder There has to be a way to help addìcts help themselves.
