Interesting and informative video!! Where are you from and what kind of accent is that?

Terrible instruction video.. Where's your lanyard? Presented turn will rip you apart below 70 meters if you are not stretched enough. Bow forward turn puts a lot less stress on your lungs and chest. Free fall position is greatly too up tight, shoulders should be leaned forward, your head slightly closer to your chest, you want to give in the pressure and "close" the chest, not be straight as presented. You will lung squeeze if you do it as presented in the video easily. You dont want the rope to touch any parts of your body. Use your lanyard carabiner to do all the rope contact, just grab the carabiner with your weak hand and use your hips to get near or far from the rope.

Is the bottom pull allowed under AIDA rules? "7.1.10 Any propulsion assistance (in the direction of movement) other than swimming movements or pushing off from the end wall during starts and turns will result in a penalty (PULL) as described in Chapter 10."

hi mate! i am sponsorized by Carbonio GFT (italian brand) so i only use their fins... in this video i was wearing FORCE (medium). if you like to have top quality fins i suggest you a new model (only for freediving NOT spearfishing) called ONDA...amazing!!

Great video; thanks! His head position was not good and shouldn't be modeled as an example. It may be because he didn't want to hit the bottom of the pool but he was looking down, his head was not neutral, and that is a big mistake in duck dives if you want the efficient entry.

Were you equalizing hands free in the first 10-12 meters? I need to frentzel after every pull would until I get negative and it feels like I am taking too long to get down if my pills are too short. It increases the overall time/depth ratio. Any recommendations? Thanks Marco

ciao Marco, thanks for the interesting question! so...no, i am not hands free, if you look carefully i equalize pinching my nose very quickly when my hand is passing in front of my face... if we master our equalization technique we can do it very quickly. second point: yes, you are right, we take longer to go to depth with short pulling BUT we use less energy so that we can hold our breath longer (producing less co2 for each pull). of course we need to find a correct balance between time and depth but remember that our first enemy is the co2 production...if you slow down the production of it your dives should easilly become longer and nicer...and as consequence deeper!! ;-) hope to have been clear in explanation i wish you amazing dives!

Best video I have seen! Very important to keep toes pointed (optional, but you diminish fin design) and knees slightly bent (required) to avoid knee injury. Easy to forget until the damage is done. Unless you are doing a pretty photo shoot for a couple minutes to show off your body building, really no need to keep your knees locked. If you do sense pain in those areas later, adequate nutrients and reasonable exercise and a great attitude should keep you highly mobile. The occasional weather change or sleep on it wrong type of temporary feeling that is a reminder you should have bent your knees is completely avoidable. I am grateful you took the time and effort to illustrate this perfectly. If you do suspect you have any minor physical aliments, consult your doctor and graduate your adventures depth wise. In other words recreationally try 10 then 20 ft for long periods before moving deeper. Sinus and dental problems are quite amplified under pressure, something your family doctor may not be aware of. Well worth the effort to escape gravity for a little while. I limit myself to about 20 ft, and I have a blast and no discomforts (flying with ear wax is more painful).

I have a question sir, i have plantar fasciitis and when i tiptoe when finning it is really uncomfortable and i cant sink. Does the arches on foot affects my finning. Can i adjust my feet to normal one and not to tiptoe. Really hoping for your answer. Thank you
@andersonboy620
@andersonboy620 2 жыл бұрын
Well, what you should do is forst fix the plantar fascitis cause it is not something that cannot be fixed. So, go to a proper physiotherapist or a skilled massage therapust with health improving knowledge that will help you. After you get rid of it and do all the homework excercices you, start practicing stretching properly your ankles and toes to get the feet used to the finning position. Hope this helps you and work hard my friend!

Nice explanation and video. The way you turn, especially in the turn video you extend your arms to the bottom. So you do exactly the movement you want to avoid when you go up. Thanks for your meaning about this...
@onlyoneapneacenter
@onlyoneapneacenter 2 жыл бұрын
hello Fabian, thanks for your comment. sorry but i did not understand what you mean... sorry. about the extension of the arm during the turn (if you mean this, not sure) it has to be done only to grab the tag (during competition) or to make sure the depth gauge (placed on that arm) signs the real depth of the dive. i hope my answer is clear and on topic, otherwise please let me know so i can reply properly!! :-)
@fabianmeister1458
@fabianmeister1458 2 жыл бұрын
@@onlyoneapneacenter thanks for your answer. Yes, it is about the extension from the arm at depth. I know it is done like this in competitions and it is correct. I was just wondering, why you mentioned the possibility of a squeeze on the FIM ascent, but not on the turn at the bottom, because you open the chest or extend you arms about the same. I dont know if there is any difference in these moves? Anyway thanks a lot for your videos. They help!!
@onlyoneapneacenter
@onlyoneapneacenter 2 жыл бұрын
@@fabianmeister1458 ah, ok, now i got it! good point man! so... from my professional experience based on organizing big competitions and deep record attempts i never saw athletes squeezed because of that extension (to grab a tag) but i saw many people squeezed in depth because of the extreme powerful and wide pulling at the bottom. it makes sense to me that pulling very strong in that moment (at maximum depth) creates lot of tensions on the chest (abdominal, pectoral, shoulders and back muscles) causing lungs squeeze. the arm extending down to the plate doesn't create muscle tensions since there is not any weight to move (only a tag to grab) while the arm pulling our self up should move all our weight (many many kilos) up. hope i have been clear in the explanation... thanks again for your question!!! wish you great dive man!

As a life long diver/spearfisher, long fins apeared late in my life, from the standard short/medium rubber fins of the 1970's upgraded to a bit longer but wider and stiffer fin, leg muscles were up to a wider fin, now you probably get the same trust with a longer fin. hi man!! using long fins is bit different then short ones.... technique is the same but efforts, cadence and micro details are very different. in general i suggest long-soft fins for free diving while for spearfishing i suggest little harder since we carry more leads on the belt... but is more about personal taste! dive safe and keep having fun dude.

ciao Dean, very good question, thanks! it depends.... anyone of us as slightly different positions for the ankle, someone keep feet pointing outside, someone else pointing inside... so it depends!! generally toes should point back but a little movement back/forward helps to drive the blade properly and keep them flat. please check in the second video (part2) the correct position of the ankle and let us know if you have other questions, thanks a lot. dive safe man!
