As an Adam fan I have to say thank you for tackling him in a civil manner. The Sk8 fandom is an absolutely nasty place to the point where people censor his name and and harass his fans with death threats and bullying on the regular. At the end of the day you don’t have to like him but you do need to understand him. He makes up 1 half of the show’s driving force so to watch a Sk8 without Adam is to misunderstand the show completely. He is a character in literally the worst possible headspace in all of this, the character who went too far. I’m quite frankly excited to see what they’ll do with him in season 2 especially if he’s finally starting to heal because that is hard especially from where he went to. The creators love Adam so I’m sure he’ll be back.

Sorry, what kind of take is lumping Regulars in with Picky Customers and Foodies as ruining the industry? That is an objectively bad take.

this is brilliant!!! both part 1 and part 2 have helped me pay much more attention to the nuances of the show in a way that is gonna enrichen my future rewatches and i'm eternally thankful for it (specially considering this is my favorite tv show of all time). your observations of how it successfully shows rather than tells about the worldbuilding through the characters were absolutely genius, and honestly helpful to me not only within the context of engaging with the show but also in my journey as a writer!! all that being said, i hope you continue these series because i certainly plan to watch each and every single part of it ♥️

55:50 That's interesting to know. As a person who often dines alone I've noticed there's more than a subtle push to encourage alcohol consumption on a customer. As an adult who doesn't drink it's very annoying but I've been noticing it more and more. If the sales of it are important to the staff that might explain why they push it so much.

I watched this movie with my family when I was a kid. I'll never forget how my mother, who does not like martial arts movies, didn't make a peep the entire time until it cut back to Shu Lien and Li Mu Bai sitting silently in the cave, where she wailed TELL HIM YOU LOVE HIM, because the agonizing slow burn character drama gets people regardless of anything else.

5:13 "No! You don't need to deconstruct everything! Sometimes, just the food is fine! It's FINE!" Lmao just started watching but I love how you basically immediately summarized one the core messages of the movie (ie. modern haute cuisine is dumb, just cook the damn food and make it taste good)

I love how honest you are in this! I've seen so many reactions to Starkid shows where folks are 100% fans from the start (I've grown up with them, their first show AVPM was the soundtrack to my high school years), and it's honestly refreshing to see a take where someone who isn't usually into this kind of thing tries it out! And yeah, Starkid has some tasty harmonies. XD Oh, and the weird choreography during "Literal Monster" is apparently John Cena wrestling poses/moves. "Why do I keep feeling like I'm being hit in the back of the head with a baseball bat?" That's the true Starkid experience! XD It's so cool that you're seeing this with just the knowledge of the title song - that animation really is a gorgeous rendition of that moment! Oh man, yeah, that bullet scene is intense! "These two are living in an entirely different genre to Grace" is genuinely the best way I've ever heard that phrased!

21:01 supposedly there is a deleted scene of her getting water boarded with broken emulsion. And the broken emulsion fits the idea of the bread dish. The common man doesn't if the sauce is split. And my favorite line entire film is Slowik saying "I'm sorry you're dying." to the agent after asking her if she had to take out student loans to go to brown.

Omg so true. He has been for sure told that he was responsible for other people at his care/the ones who look up to him, because he is incapable of seeing it not all his fault. I believe that as it was taboo for them to interact, and Tadashi as the servant of the family and the older one instigated the relationship he might have been warned of the results of his actions, most likely as he was the child of the family’s oldest servants(his family served them for years) by his family, and as a teenager with his own moral compass and compassion he rebelled against that by helping Ainosuke but something changed that made him see all of it as stupid childish naivety and I belive this was before the skate burning incident since he already looks dead inside there. My theory is that since we do not see his family at any point between the servants or they re never mentioned except the origin story, his actions directly might have cost his family (most likely their job) and as his all life is around Ainosuke even though his caretaker and protector personality would most likely make him take care of his family more, them not being mentioned yet, makes me think he might have become estranged to them even if his relationship with Ainosuke did not cost them anything, it is obvious that a Ainosuke got lonelier through the years Tadashi also became the same even though he seemed like a happy child with a healthier environment than Ainosuke (since one of the creators mentioned in an interview they imagine Tadashi and his dad had a loving relationship). His depression clearly comes from being overly burned out due to caring too much and that resulting with him blaming everything all on himself, and my theory is it starts earlier than Ainosuke’s breaking point. I strongly believe Ainosuke also senses the change in Tadashi, but since he doesn’t understand love or relationship all that much, he could only explain it by concluding Tadashi was never that caring guy who risked a lot by being with him and helping him and just believes that he was always just an opinionless servant who obeyed his masters to be able to keep his job (hence the dog insult), which to us is clearly not the case as Tadashi riskes more than his life for Ainosuke, for his well-being but Ainosuke can’t see that due to Tadashi being his only relief from mental and physical torture of his house and life losing him actually makes Ainosuke become increasingly more mentally unstable and obsessing over finding someone like Tadashi that will not leave him. But to Ainosuke’s credit his attempt at trying to test and get a reaction from Tadashi by saying he will want him to go in jail instead of Ainosuke actually becomes an evidence that proves Tadashi’s true personality to even a person that is as incapable of seeing true care and love as Ainosuke, hence even though he never planned on getting rid of Tadashi this with the events of finale actually might help them repair their relationship hence providing a way for Tadashi to be more healthier, since he is very dead inside a person like Ainosuke always trying to awaken him and not give up on him might help even though Ainosuke is not a good guy, Tadashi doesn’t seem to have anyone who actively cares about him at this point other than Ainosuke, as sad as it sounds, as before the finale Ainosuke also represses his care for Tadashi due to hurt, which make Tadashi all the more lonely. So maybe that is why he smiles so genuinely at the end since he is not only getting a second chance in making things right, he also gets conformation that he will always have the person he cares most by his side and that person is caring for him as well. For someone as lonely, sad and goodhearted as Tadashi that is the best news.

14:27 Now imagine this bs but like, 50 hours of it. The Keyleth part of the will they won't they lasted longer (the animation makes it feel shorter just due to compression of the events). Then it was Vax's turn, endless hours of me screaming at the screen for them to stop being morons. Animation only people have no idea what us Campaign folks have been through lmfao!

0:54 It is so F#@%ing good. I mean all of Critical Role is, but it's a self-contained, relatively short (in DnD terms) story, and unlike the other EXU's that have a bunch of Vox Machina spoilers in them, Calamity is set like a thousand years in the past so doesn't have any spoilers for C1 in it.

Can we just appreciate the way they made Kima like... Actually as good as she says she is? Like, when Kima always goes "I got this!" you immediately expect the classic "Oh, she actually doesn't and she needs the constant support of Allura" but... No. Kima ACTUALLY got this, and it's Allura that needs to grow the confidence to just let her wife do the work she knows how to do. And when Kima knows that she is a bit too in over her head, she just says it! "Okay, now it's the time to help me out!"

The spell Scanlan used was Mordenkainen's Magnificent Mansion, but in the campaign he always referred to it as Scanlan's Magnificent Mansion (probably because Sam Riegel couldn't say the first word and neither can I so I don't blame him lol)

I love that you also felt Scanlan's story sneaking through the seasons and suddenly gaining as much force as the romance, and I think that is to nail even more the theme of this season, separation and loneliness. His isolation was always there, and we always kinda seen it, but the pessure is up, and oh boy... it's a lot. And Pike's "You only care for someone other than yourself for the first time' when we the audience know that is not the case (he created a house with rooms for everybody he loves) cuts deep
