Thank God I do not have to take something back to Home Depot. I own my Mantis. I bought it used and repaired it. It is a 13 year old two cycle version. I tilled up my garden, yesterday, and ended up with all kinds of oak roots on the tines. It took me about an hour to cut them all off. I will wash it off after I am through with the garden. I am about half way through. I will also blow off the air filter before I put it back in its storage location. I will run it out of gas, too - winter is coming and I won’t need it anymore this year. I will put it out in the sun to dry after washing it off. I will also spray it down with WD-40 to limit surface rusting during storage.

I have found the best way to remove roots from a Mantis is - leave them on the tiller and cut through them with a pair of diagonal cutters and then use needle nose pliers to remove them.

Before you use the saw again spend some time on you tube for correct techniques for operating a chain saw, you managed to get the tree down but the technique was not good at all, don't give up...gotta start somewhere...

Hey bro, looks like u were using a butter knife buttering ur bread. Good wedge... but it needs to come out. The reason it didn't come down. Keep your face away from the blade! rocking the blade helps not buttering ur bread. lol.... I like to see guys out working instead of playing video games. :)

You are just as bad as me pulling that large vine/little tree back while holding a runnin saw... until ya trip...and the saw revs up!...No, I didn't cut IT off😁....just be careful next time.

Watch a few videos from the pros and try again. That saw can get hold of you quick. Let the saw do its job. When you go back and forth bad things can happen. Slow and steady. You got this bro. A few more trees and you'll be in business.

Try sharpening the chain as well don’t ever pull front to back let the chainsaw do the work but before you even try that one you should go get some chaps and a helmet my dad is a logger as am I and I grew up in the woods all of my life and I’ve ran these things plenty of times if you don’t know something ask a question
