I paid 400 for my gas Honda like 15 years ago. It still starts on the first pull everytime. I’m using f that thing until I’m dead instead of paying another 400 for something to do the same thing.

I probably wouldn't have gone electric, but my Strikemaster Magnum Solo 137 plastic gas tank cracked and was leaking. The tank has been discontinued by Solo. I could not find one. I tried plastic welding it, and using seal-all. No luck. I tried retrofitting a different tank, but because of the throttle and on/off switch location, it just wouldn't work. I already had a Dewalt DCD999 drill, so I thought I would try a pistol bit; got it for $125.99. I should have done that years ago. I'll never go back; the Dewalt / Pistol Bit combo RIPS through the ice like it's mad at it. 1/3 the weight, 2/3 the size, no gas, no exhaust, no ear plugs, no pull starting, no warming up. Can you tell I like the drill adaptive auger? Ha...ha...ha....
@BallistecКүн бұрын
I've never heard of anybody burning out a drill using a drill adaptive auger, provided the drill had the recommended torque rating. If you already have a drill and likely numerous batteries, do not waste your money on a dedicated electric auger. I have an Eskimo pistol bit and a Dewalt DCD999, and it screams through the ice faster than my Strikemaster Magnum Solo 137. The pistol bit weighs 3½ lbs, and the drill weighs around 2½ lbs. When I get home, I use the drill for many other projects. Slam Dunk!

I don’t think this would work for my deep v hull boat.

I've been using a drill for 20yrs, you'll ever sell me this overpriced crap. My current drill cost 40$ and eats ice for breakfast without stopping.

Even if you women were ugly you would be attractive doing this. I like to be alone when I ice fish but I would make an exception for you two.

Tiny 1/64 ounce collarless jig with a 1" gulp minnow. Get a jar and you'll always have minnows. They last forever. My absolute favorite ice fishing bait.

I was impressed with up-sizing to a 10" Lazer auger for my 40v Strikemaster. Then came the 10" StrikeLite. Hole-EE Smokes. 'Nuff Said!!

...But we still have the good ol' lil 2-horse two-cycle mag/lazermag engine from '99-2000 ready at the helm; should we need a bunch of Swiss cheese made for a gathering of many family & friends out on the ice! Let it do the bulk of the work, & if need be; have an extension on the electric augers to finish opening up the holes of ice thicker than 34 inches!

When I lived up there,on the M lake, the rules said that you can't use a fish body part , for bait. Is that still the law? Cause an eyeball makes a excellent bait!

In Minnesota we can't use eyes unfortunately! You can in north Dakota though!
