I like your boat retrofit, except for the storage box in the middle of the boat. I know this will be a future regret for you folks. I would remove it and then add new storage to the bow side of the electrical box you already built. No more trip hazard, plus, potentially more storage. Also, just get the 2-stroke carburetors cleaned (or rebuilt), and start with fresh gas - not mixed gas that has been sitting around for a year. That's my 2-cents worth of advice. Oh, I bought a LiFe04 10 AH battery for ice fishing and it works great-I love it! I'm sure a trolling motor would tax that size battery, but a larger capacity battery would be more appropriate - maybe a 50 AH battery.

IF YOU GO WITH THE NEW LIFEPO4 BATTERY IT HAS ALOT MORE CAPACITY AND YOU CAN SAFELY RUN IT DOWN TO ZERO WITH NO PROBLEMS AND ITS HALF THE WEIGHT AND MOST LAST TEN YEARS AND A SOLAR PANEL CAN KEEP IT TOPPED OFF….

Hi Nicole, great video, thank you for sharing. I wanted to comment on the GluvIt you are using to fix the leaks. GluvIt is a great product engineered for just this application. When applied it actively seeks out gaps cracks and holes to fill. It also helps protect aluminum from any further corrosion and pitting. The seams and rivets start to leak over time in an aluminum boat due to it flexing while in the water but also on and off the trailer and while on the road. I would highly recommend just covering the entire bottom with the GluvIt. That will seal and protect all the seams and rivets at once and prevent you having to fix new leaks as you use the boat. It will also help protect the entire bottom from corrosion and abrasions if you want to park on the beach or from bumping into thing in shallow water. Best practice would be to empty the boat and turn it over. Let it dry thoroughly and sand where needed then clean with acetone and paint the entire bottom paying extra attention to the seams and all rivets. If you don't care for the appearance of the GluvIt when it dries it can be top coated with any epoxy friendly marine paint. A little bit of extra work, but you'll only have to do it once.

Hi, luv ur posts and vids...the most consistent and affordable batteries I've used are interstate batteries ! And if the outboard is running, that's a great sign..lol..probly just tune up stuff (new plugs...fresh gas/oil and may need carbs cleaned )! 🤞

Great video you sure know your stuff, on batteries I'm on a budget so I went with Walmart everstart marine/RV 24DC and I've had mine for 3 years I use 2 and I connected them in series 👍

This fuel they sell now is really messing up motors Nicole. Get some Sea Foam at the part store or Wal-Mart. Mix it with the fuel. It's great for cleaning fuel injectors and carburetors. It should help stop the stalling once the fuel system is cleaned out. I use it all the time working on rv generators.

I’m assuming that you know the proper oil to gas ratio, since it’s obviously a 2 cylinder, if not start there, but I would try cleaning out the carburetor on your outboard, and switching spark plug, if you haven’t already. It could be something simple as a shot spark plug wire. One bye one, take a spark plug out, and while looking at the spark plug, look to see if isn’t firing, and if that doesn’t work, you will need to check cylinder compression, and go from there. Also, I would look at Archlab, if you have any Panoptix options.
