In the 2007 musical film they had Tracy tap the police with a sign to get his attention because he was ignoring her. Immediately, he decided to cry assault, resulting in her arrest. It wasn't violent nor did it hurt. She didn't think he'd get all dramatic and get her sent to solitary confinement. She is a teenager after all. I hope this answers your question from like a year ago. I wanna say that in the 1988 film (before the musical) something similar happened but I cannot for the life of me recall.

@@beastofedelwood1473 I can't remember. She told me her opinion of it when I met her about seven years ago and it stuck with me because Baltimore Crabs used to be one of my favorite songs. Now that I'm older I understand why she might not like it. I think they did a better job of it in the movie rather than the stage version. I really like the reprise though which was cut in the movie.

@@immanueljacobsen2433 Maybe even though it was acting, he was affected by the comments from the cast of The Corny Collins Show, or maybe they were bad in real life, or he just didn't like it, the difference between the Broadway version and the movie is very noticeable (Without despising the actress of Velma)
