+Louis Cullen You know who would make a good Velma? Catherine Zeta Jones or Donna Murphy
@darreylhenderson89798 жыл бұрын
Catherine Zeta dosen't have the vocal range- especially to handle 'Velma's Revenge', which is Velma's big belty number, however Donna would be amazing!
@darreylhenderson89798 жыл бұрын
I agree with you- Linda Hart will always be the best, everything about her take on Velma was purrfect!
@manuelorozco77608 жыл бұрын
Darreyl Henderson I was thinking of them in case you are aware that NBC is doing a LIVE version of it this December. However, Kristin Chenoweth is playing Velma which I'm okay with it. I thought of Catherine because Neil Meron & Craig Zadan who produced the 2007 film remake of Hairspray along with the past three NBC live musicals are producing the broadcast. She hasn't worked with them since Chicago. As for Donna I thought of her because of when she voiced Mother Gothel in Tangled and thought it would be interesting for her to play another villain.

I am aware that NBC is doing a live version of Hairspray, and feel that Kristen will be perfect.

@skippyruff33653 жыл бұрын
@@beastofedelwood1473 I can't remember. She told me her opinion of it when I met her about seven years ago and it stuck with me because Baltimore Crabs used to be one of my favorite songs. Now that I'm older I understand why she might not like it. I think they did a better job of it in the movie rather than the stage version. I really like the reprise though which was cut in the movie.

@@immanueljacobsen2433 Maybe even though it was acting, he was affected by the comments from the cast of The Corny Collins Show, or maybe they were bad in real life, or he just didn't like it, the difference between the Broadway version and the movie is very noticeable (Without despising the actress of Velma)
