I walked into Rolex in Watford and had (what I thought) was a strange "interview" with Mrs Rolex. Over an hour. Told her what I wanted. I wanted a Datejust and I wanted Stainless Steel. I really wasn't sure what sort of strap I wanted but I knew I wanted a fluted bezel and as a quick last resort I said "green dial". I also told her why I wanted it. My Panerai drove me crazy. All that winding. After walking out with the usual warnings "it might be tomorrow; it might be in 2027". Mmm said I - I'm 81 so I might not get it. Having made the decision I saw an unworn Rolex Datejust with a bit of gold here and there and bought it. It was a very beautiful DateJust 41 mm with a green dial and Wimbledon features. You can see it above! I bought it because all my friends said "Watford will keep you waiting for years". They didn't my; ordered watch arrived in 7 months so I have 2 andI'm very happy with both.

I just wanna sell it because I have way too many Rolex divers including the James Cameron. I think 🤔 it’s better to keep enjoying it, till it’s discontinued. Isn’t it ?!

Ive owned this for a few months. I have to say it's pure class. The exact same movement (ETA 2893-2) is used in the Breitling Colt GMT and some other 'high end' watches that are a lot more expensive. Love the solid feel to it, combined with the slim case and the smooth lockable GMT wheel. I use it when I travel abroad.

Good review. In general, wasn‘t it THE SD we have all been waiting for? Never wanted a SD without cyclops bc. it reminded me as a Subby without date. . It has red letters, and its a bit bigger and still nice to wear if U have no tiny wrist. In this times no one can tell if they go up or down , but if Rolex takes the watch out of the catalogue , I am pretty sure they get highly desirable

Nice! but my only issue is, these tests should be done while WEARING the G-Shock. What's the point of your watch surviving if YOU don't ?! Put your G on one wrist and Your Rolex on the other. I bet whatever you do, both will survive. The ONLY weak point on your current Rolex is the Crystal. If you had an Acrylic crystal i would say it would survive as well as the G. Iven worn my Acrylic Explorer (mostly on a NATO) swimming, skiing, hiking , riding bikes and motorcycles , doing obstacle courses, and even have played Ice Hockey with it on...still going strong....

For anyone who thinks that the Laurato is a copy of Genta's designs, you have to know that in fact it was inspired by the original Zenith Defy (look for photos) and the original bracelet had nothing to do with AP or PP and even less with VC. And let's not lose sight of the fact that Genta did not create designs out of nothing. The Royal Oak is also inspired by the Defy that was released 3 years earlier and the exterior screws date back to the beginning of the century with the Santos de Cartier. What I do recognize is that the current bracelet is too similar to the Nautilus and that makes it look like a copy, but other than that, the Laureato is older and therefore more original than the Nautilus and the Overseas also that the original version had nothing to do with the Royal Oak.
