This tutorial really helped me a lot! One suggestion though, you need to figure out how to normalize the volume of your voice. When you start a sentence you are just about screaming and then your voice trails off to a very low volume. It is really kind of jolting to listen to.

I etched DBAN onto a USB using Balena. DBAN doesn't work and when I use the "clean" function, windows instantly bluescreens. WTF is Balena doing?

Hi! This has been really helpful, however I've had lots of trouble installing a window manager or desktop environment. Could you help me figure out why it doesn't work?

What are the troubles you had? Be aware that you need to make sure to have an up to date system and either an xserver running for xorg or wayland working for your wayland session. Generally it’s advisable to change the profile to some desired desktop variant with the command: eselect profile list (to find the profile you want) and then: eselect profile set <profile number> Afterwards: emerge sync Then: emerge -uvUDN world (to update the world set) Afterwards install whatever desktop setting you want. If you are using systemd don’t forget to enable your display manager (for example for gnome it’s gdm) and if you are using openrc install the tool “display-manager”(please read the wiki for its configuration)
