When i had my seizure it felt like when you get up and you start blacking out but you come back to. We'll this ... there was no coming back went in to the darkness. But before that I felt like my heart rate was to low so I tried different things to speed it up. My girl friend came in the room and new something wasn't right. I'm my eyes I was talking to her but she said I wasn't saying anything. My words had no sound. I sit on bed then fell back . Seizure began. While I was having the seizure I entered a black room that went on forever in every direction. But the sounds I heard where sounds that scared the hell out of me. Sounds I never want to hear again. Then I was given two options. 1. Give and die right now. 2.fight to live... My girlfriend said after i stopped shaking, witch she said the bed moved across room up against the wall when it was in the middle of the room. That's how bad I was shaking. And she also said that I bent in ways she didn't think was possible. But when I was given the 2nd option I started punching the air over and over. Thin I woke up to cops standing all around me asking questions.

I have Type II Bipolar Disorder, I've used these and other medications, I found them all horrible, full of side effects, and to make matters worse, I don't lose weight at all, I diet and exercise, with Divalproex Sodium I gained almost 10kg in 2 months and I was completely bloated, it's desperate to try hard and get fatter and fatter. I also felt pain in my stomach, tremors, drowsiness, waking up in the morning was very difficult, I spent the day tired and sleepy, I did tests and nothing showed anything. It also increased my blood pressure and deregulated my thyroid. I'm vain and it affects me. Now it's been 2 weeks since I stopped using Venlafaxine, and it seems like a miracle, in 1 week I've already lost 3kg. Now I only use Lamotrigine, TAB really has no cure, the only way is to accept and deal with the ups and downs

Its so hard to put into words how it feels and i struggle woundering if having a panic attack or a focal seizure i do have epilepsy but is under control for most part. My symptoms with focal or simple partial are Urge to poop , tingling feeling threw whole body , racing heart , feeling of doom , i can hear but can only respond slowly, only way to feel normal again is to go to bed and reset.

Are they epileptic or non Epileptic also.?
@GilSolanoREEGT16 күн бұрын
These are epileptiform discharges are usually a result of the metabolic disturbances affecting the brain's function due to liver failure. These patterns often reflect the encephalopathy itself rather than an underlying epileptic disorder.

in the area whare i reside the MH services are highly corrupted and malfeasance in those sectors is rife so going private is the only way to get help to be beleived and trusted and even then it's a minefield trying to find a suitable MH therapist who u can trust and is helpful and caters to your needs without judgement and has no biases or loyslties to the financial providers who pay their wages bcoz the patient is paying they are the priority! I've come to learn only ME can help ME! no amount of therapist shopping or talkn will help or change things in my emotional state of mind but giving the amount of decades of abuse I know I am not likely to respond well to ANY form of MH therapy as my brain is most likely damaged and thsts not including the heraditory neurological disorders which I was not informed about bcoz my first 6 months of medical notes were mysteriously erased during the baby scoop era of the early 70s wen I was fast track forced adopted by protestant lying anglicants who orchestrated forced adoptions back then to highly unstable abusive adoptive "parents"! I cud go on got a LOT of truthes to say but I fear backlash n blacklisting etc been this way my entire miserable existence

I’ve been prescribed topamax 50mg qd for migraines I’m currently on day 3. So far I’m not feeling any of the side effects I felt on day 1 and 2 mainly tingling in my forearms and hands I was also very sleepy. It has been making me sleepy. It has been suppressing my appetite and has somehow given me a lot of energy for the gym. (It’s helped me not feel the weird tingling sensation) hopefully this is the answer to my awful migraines.

I don't remember anything during mine, just waking up extremely tired(as if I had been running for as hard as I could for as far as I can "jog"*), weakness in the legs, and disorientation/confusion/not remembering anything very short term. These symptoms last for maybe an hour post-awareness. Most of the time a bitten tongue accompanies the event, too! I also think I bite my tongue based on seizures that I've had in the past as deja vu moments(body acting out a seizure action--though it may not be actually occuring at this time)....I haven't seen a specislist; my doc just put me on seizure meds. In any event, they seem very rare now. It's possible that I might be at one noticeable one once a year(if that). One more thing: I don't know if this is a symptom or seizure patients or not, but maybe dreaming?! *You can imagine how tired that would make you...If I was elderly or smaller(am 45 and pretty solid), I might not be able to get up right away or be able to without risk. That's how tired and weak in the legs I have been after having one.
@GilSolanoREEGTАй бұрын
It sounds like you've been through a lot! It's important to keep track of your symptoms and discuss them with a specialist if you can. It's great that the seizures have become rare for you. Take care of yourself!
@rwwilson21Ай бұрын
General question: How can you know what a seizure feels like, when you don't have them. because if you're stating all this out of medical observation, I'm sorry but you have no idea.
@GilSolanoREEGTАй бұрын
Thank you for your question. You're absolutely right that personal experience of seizures provides unique insight that medical professionals like myself can never fully replicate. As a neurodiagnostic specialist, my role is to interpret EEG data and collaborate with patients and physicians to provide the best care possible. While I don't have personal experience with seizures, I rely on scientific research, clinical data, and the invaluable input from patients who live with epilepsy. This combination helps us understand not only the physical manifestations of seizures but also their impact on individuals' lives. I truly value the perspectives of those who experience seizures, as it helps inform and improve our approach to diagnosis and treatment. Your input is crucial, and I'm always eager to learn from patients to better serve the community.

I am so frustrated. This whole thing began in 2018. Mine are non-epileptic seizures and it seems that my doctors have not been able to really help me. My neurologist wants me to take these tests that require hospitalization for about 5 days in which I have to stop taking all my medications to see the brain activity during the seizures and that scares me as hell. I just can’t do that. But I don’t feel like my old self since this whole thing began in 2018.
@GilSolanoREEGT2 ай бұрын
I can really feel your frustration, and I’m so sorry you’ve been dealing with this since 2018. It’s exhausting to go through all of this and not feel like yourself anymore. Non-epileptic seizures can be really hard to manage, and I totally understand how scary the idea of stopping your meds for a hospital stay sounds. It’s a big step, and it makes sense to feel hesitant. Have you had a chance to discuss other options with your neurologist? It might be helpful to express your fears about the hospitalization and see if there are alternative approaches that could work for you. You deserve to feel comfortable with whatever steps you're taking in your treatment. And even though it might not feel like it right now, you’re strong for getting through these past years. Take it one step at a time, and don’t lose sight of advocating for what feels right for you. Is there anything that’s helped you cope with the stress during all of this?
