So true! That helplessness and even wanting to fix or control prevents us from listening and instead we want to jump in and try to make it better. Ironically it just makes it worse. Also sometimes we don't want to pry or be nosy by asking questions, or we want to give a person their privacy. But indeed it does a service for the other person to be present and supportive through listening. It truly makes us better people. Great video!

SO true! Some days are just not for that. I think the best thing we can do in that case is to accept it, and go take a nap, go for a walk, or hug a cat/dog/familiar. I like what you said about creating space around it.

Your video has sparked a meaningful conversation. How do you handle the emotional rollercoaster of success and failure in your own life? As someone who runs a dream interpretation channel, what strategies would you recommend for maintaining emotional balance during times of fluctuating fortunes? I appreciate the insights shared in this video about navigating life's highs and lows, and I've liked and subscribed to your channel for more valuable content.

For me it's a work in progress. Probably the most useful approach I've found has been a deep dive into understanding my knee-jerk reactions- how they affect me and how to work with them so they don't run my life. And the key piece to that is getting a good grounding and foundation in nervous system work. Btw working with dreams is awesome! I did a pretty intensive 7 year 1:1 training some years ago which I still use in my work.

Interesting! It’s very subtle. I’m going to try and use it as things crop up. Take a breath. Take a moment. And bring this other energy in. Thanks Simon!

It is subtle but gets stronger and clearer over time with repetition. I'll be interested to hear how it goes for you

❤YESSSSSSSS, I just found you........please make your Videos Longer, it is so Eye Opening, n Encouraging, Thank You. Shame is Huge for me! What is your thoughts on Isolating or being stuck in a Freeze State, Shame Based, unable to get out into my life and live? Do you have some insight on this coping technique, that seems so Debilitating?😢

What lovely feedback, thank you. I don't think I can answer properly here but will make a video that gives some of the ways I tend to think about and work with the topics you mention (by next week). In the meantime, the one thing I can say is that with time and some work it can change way more than we think possible.

Most problems we suffer on an emotional level are alleviated by "processes"! However, egocentric folk who struggle to "accept" reality "feel" it's soooo much more than a process and resist. Tough love, with a caveat, will often work. The caveat being some explanation as to the Tough love process and the "sensetive" battering of their ego!

Thanks so much Simon - this is great! What will make the biggest difference to me right now was putting a wash on ;-) Just because it was weighing on my mind how many loads of washing are waiting to be done after our Airbnb guests. Such a little thing to make me feel more in control 👍🏼

Oh... I have a laundry list of bad decisions. I've learned I don't make decisions after 2pm because my NS is exhausted by that time in the day. That's how I help make less bad choices day to day! and.. I assure you... I will never do press ups on my fists! LOL (and...fun fact in Canada we call it 'push ups') --

Great idea! I see these two skills as working on the external, and working on the internal - changing/adapting external environment as I can, and equally adapting my internal experience and like you said 'build my capacity'. Loved this video, thanks!
