I’m also a dance teacher (at a strictly hip hop studio) and I love seeing how different studios operate! Would love to see a video on how you prep/plan out your classes!

I am 12 years old (almost 13) and I recently really wanted to do dance. I have been constantly watching dance videos, tutorials, and flexibility videos. I am not very flexible and I can't even do the splits! I really want to do contemporary, hip hop, and jazz. Btw I used to do ballet when I was like 8 and I did tap 2 years ago for about 6 months at a horrible studio. Anyways, enough of me yapping😅 if anyone has any tips PLEASE HELP YOUR GIRL OUT💙

I’m 15, and this is my first year starting dance (I did ballet and gymnastics as a child but hated it so I don’t count that as dance experience). I am currently taking music theater and contemporary which is 2 hours a week. My studio also has a really good competition team that one of my friends on. I love watching their rehearsals, they are all so amazing and talented. Do you think it is possible for me to get to that level? I have practically no flexibility, can do anything as basic as a cartwheel, and am already struggling a little in my classes (we’ve only had a few so far and I love it but they are a little fast-paced even at beginner level). It’s not my goal to turn dance into a career, but I think competing with such an amazing team of such closely-knit people is something I would love to do! If anyone has any advice on how I can improve in and out of the studio to maybe achieve this level, please let me know! Do you think this is plausible in 4 years? (I graduate in ‘28 and therefore would be a senior dancer for my company). Thank you so so much!!

I can’t believe I’m watching this video four years later. But this resonates with me on so many levels because I wanted to take dance classes, but I worried that I wasn’t flexible enough. Now I’m 21 and getting started. I’m not taking classes though, but I’m following along with KZbin videos!

❤ You're a gem. I'm only a minute into your second video, but you're very sweet and encouraging. I'm a "closested" dancer since childhood, and at age 40 I'm trying to get into the right mindset to believe in my abilities and find the courage to really push myself. This is a great video for someone like me. When you talk about your own style of dancing, I definitely have that 😆. I have a lot of physical issues that sometimes limit my endurance and mobility, and I was "blessed" with the permanent jitters, so my body is disproportionate and sometimes does whatever it wants, and it can discourage me. I'm an old dog out here trying to learn new tricks, and I appreciate you sharing all the good and bad. Keep dancing! ❤

Thanks for this video! I'm 14 and I've been dancing of a few months...I have 7 siblings and i have a hard time getting around to classes. Right now all I'm taking is ballet, modern, and musical theater, and it's still a lot money/time wise ha ha. Do you have any tips for that-not really being able to talk what you need?? (I know I'm late on this comment:)

I started dance when I was three but wasn’t big at it. I never did competition and started going to more then one class only when I was 11 and I did competition, Iwas in a class of kids a little than younger than me but I still don’t regret it!
