Ive got a 78 f250 4x4, 4 inch lift on 35s with 355 gears. The 351m in it is tired and not long for the world. Ive got just about everything to swap a 300 into it including a bellhousing to mate it to my 4 speed. Do you think id be happy with the swap? Or would it be too underpowered
@kindeed200911 сағат бұрын
It would do just fine. I like the 300

That extra 40ish kg weight on the DR is not trivial, but that front tire may have been the real problem. I do like the extrawide tires on the TW.

ok, Apples to Oranges here, look at your old trucks, full size, even oversized than reg cabs you have there, and you want to compare a smaller size model to those from the past (way past, I'd say from mid 70s model fords maybe even older) and those have huge V8s that you want to compare to a modern V6, not comparable anywhere on the planet Bud. stick to what you know, it's not Chevys smaller trucks, if you got a chevy full size truck same/near age of your fords, I think you would find them comparable, just as good as your old trucks. If you want an off road model truck, shop for one that is equipped for that.

My current ride is a 74 highboy with a 460. It sat for close to 40 years before I obtained it. New bearings all the way around a new head gasket and wheels and tires roughly 9k$ to get it back on the road the previous owner lost the title to it so it sat for a long time until I had an interest. I had to get a bonded title to get it registered which happens next week 35k original miles and zero rust makes it a gem. It has lived most of its life in the high desert of Nevada so it’s a real survivor, cool video nice truck. Enjoy

I know you most likely don't have this anymore, but I heard if you change the transmission fluid and filter and put moble 1 synthetic transmission fluid in it, the shifting gets smoother.

You were right about being concerned about the front end breaking off. If you’re still working on this trike, build a stronger reinforced steering column and forks. That’s a lot of weight.

Sweet! Been waffling back and forth between buying a TW or a DR. Leaning toward the DR with 46T rear and then switch from 15 to 14 front for trails. And get rid of the widowmaker front tire.

Pop the tires off, clean the rim seat with a wire brush & apply bead sealer around the rim before recounting. Tgat tire slime does not work, it never does. It just makes a horrid mess inside the tires. Tunes will rip tre valve stems off.... Tip: you can replace the 22x10-8 rudamuck tires with ATP mud lites 22x11-8. Cheap, chunky & my argo conquest swims with them as well
