Yes sir! And I would not suggest a Mud Ox since they are hard to find someone who will work on them. Another guy on here has had several Argo's and then switched to a Mudd Ox. He shortly after getting the Mudd Ox sold it and got another Argo. His name is Dan. You can find him on here if you have questions. I know he'd be more than happy to help you with your'e decision. Love my Argo! In fact I have been wanting to sell it and get one of the new ones of course with tracks.

This guy is an idiot. 1. look how close his hand is to the drum while he is bringing it in. 2. NEVER EVER let the cable "slide" through your hand. If there is a fray in the cable it will slice the shit out of his hand and with a glove it will pull his hand right into the drum.

Is that the brakes squeaking? What year is you Argo?
@silenceofthehams69024 жыл бұрын
It was the belt on the clutch. I have since up graded it to the HD belt which has eliminated that. As well as completely red the brake system etc. The guy I bought it from didn't know anything about skid type steer vehicles and had put the wrong DOT # brake fluid in and screwed up the calipers causing braking issues. It's an 2006 Avenger. I have upgraded all of it to an HD Avenger now. With the tracks I can literally run through anything with no problems. I have friends who have Can Am 1000's all hoped up who laugh at me because mine isn't fast. I have to laugh when I pass them and they are buried in a nasty mud hole. Yeah like how fast are you going to really go in the woods? Right? When I sell it I will buy another one!

Argo Avenger. And it will run at 23 mph on land and 3 mph in water. My buddies who the hopped up side sides laugh and tell me to keep up. Yes it will work without. You will just end up with corn on the bottom of the feeder. How much is anybody guess. I will say this feeder has been thru 3 hurricanes and is still going strong. All of the other so called "store bought" feeders have died and needed to be resuscitated.

So, if I want to run tracks full time with 500-600 pounds of people do you recommend the Conquest?
@silenceofthehams69025 жыл бұрын
The conquest is a good choice. If you wait they have the new 2020's coming out. The new models have the ability to turn like an ATV. I would definitely recommend the Adair Pro Series tracks. They are far superior to the Argo tracks. I run in deep heavy mud way back in swamps you name it and have had zero problem with them.

"I have confidence in the ARGO again"? If you lost it, or didn't have it, your unit had issues to begin with. It isn't that often they're hung up. Not that they can't, but not to where I've heard someone say that, + w/o tracks you're asking it to do what any machine can't do. Ive seen you in other videos w/tracks struggling, and remember hearing sounds I'm not used to hearing/seeing yours struggle. It not common and made me think somethings wrong even like at 6:30...somethings not right. Are the tracks on? If not...why not? They're made for situations just like this and it makes it MUCH easier on your unit.
@silenceofthehams69026 жыл бұрын
Yeah I had bought it off a guy in South Carolina who didn't know how to work on them. He and his "mechanic" buddy had done some things that weren't correct. I had to go in and redo a lot of what they had done. Chains were stretched, belt was slipping because his son wouldn't operate it properly and he had glazed the belt. Brakes were an issue, hubs were leaking from lack of maintenance etc. etc. etc. I basically have gone thru the entire thing including having the transmission rebuilt. I'll defer to the above statement about the guys son. After I had upgraded the belt and I also upgraded the axels and bearings to HD it was night and day difference. I did all of that because I wanted to add tracks. And you can stick anything. Nothing is exempt from getting buried. The road we were on had been wallowed out by BIG TRUCKS with giant tires and the stretches I kept struggling thru was some nasty deep mud. NON of my friends would even ride thru it it was that bad. And there was nothing wrong with the way my machine was sounding. I went back and watched that part of the video. It sounds like that in Low gear. It has 2 gears. Low, High and reverse. It wasn't until I was at Hog Waller(much later) and buried it that I decided to order the Adair Pro Series Tracks for it. Yeah the Adair series tracks aren't cheap. Around $4200 a set. Since then I haven't even come close to getting stuck. And adding tracks will put a greater strain on a machine than not having tracks. Hence the reason I upgraded all of my bearings and axels to Heavy Duty. Is it necessary to upgrade to HD to run tracks? No! Will your machine handle nasty nasty thick mud better if you do? YES! Simple physics actually! The thing your not considering is the weight of the tracks that you are adding to the vehicle and then to run them thru mud which equates to more weight and resistance. And yes your machine will run slower with tracks on it. But It is so worth it. I can go out in the 6 acre big pit where the big trucks race and not get stuck with tracks on. I can literally drive around those who are buried and and stop and start and not get stuck. Having tracks on a vehicle doesn't mean your going to be blazing trails at regular speed all the time. You will encounter nasty nasty mud that no one in there right mind will even attempt to drive thru but someone with tracks. Yeah you will be slowed down but you will as we say walk it right thru it. Driving an Argo takes learning and how to drive it properly. The above video I hadn't had my Argo that long and was still in a learning curve. It's not like a 4 wheeler or any side x side. It operates completely different in the steering and maneuvering. Especially in nasty mud etc. Sounds like you should get one and see for yourself.
