Please check your translations. Francoise Berard states that she is a conservator and it is translated to curator. They are not the same thing.

Sorry PBS, I'm doing chores. I don't have time to look up at every second to read foreign translations. I just want to listen and learn. Actually watching should be optional for an educational video. Adapt, and do better.

Maybe grab a podcast instead of complaining about having to watch a VIDEO.

Muslims were here in the sense that they were the cause of our nation's first war. If these propagandists think American slavery was terrible, they should really look into Islamic slavery, which is still prevalent today and makes American slavery look like a paradise. Muslims took all subjugated peoples as slaves, even little boys and girls, but put a higher price on white Europeans in particular. "The United States fought two wars against the Barbary States, a group of North African states that supported piracy to demand tribute from weaker Atlantic powers: First Barbary War (1801-1805) The first war was fought against Tripoli. President Jefferson ordered a naval squadron to blockade Tripoli and attack any Barbary ships. The war ended with a peace settlement that freed the United States from paying tribute to Tripoli."

Romans worked until 1pm and then took a bath the whole afternoon and their culture and buildings have been adored for over 2000 years. Nowadays we have grind culture and overwork and people of the future will only remember us for our trash culture. How nice.

What an amazing documentary. With 35% of black slaves brought to this country being Muslim, there is a lot more digging to do into their history that can shed more light on Muslims in America. Thank you the wonderful research done on this subject.

I know media outlets are supposed to be diverse, but I still shocked by the discrepancy between the "documentary" PBS that produces content like this one, and news programs such as PBS NewsHour which frankly sugar-coates the horrifying massacre of Muslims by the U..S. and its allies.

...you know, if you are reading this and watched this amazing moment in American history, you too can have the same revelatory moment about you. Just visit the Library of Congress (in person) and bring your questions about you, what you crave, your curiosity, your journey and your search for your truth. I have. All praises to the journalists!
